It's wild people thought IWTV Louis was dull - maybe the other books. But book #1 is one of the most insane characters whose mind I've inhabited. This man paints himself as the moral and aesthetic superior to everyone, then flies into a rage and sets everything on fire at least three times. Despite having the most guilt about killing, He kills more brutally and savagely than Lestat or Claudia that at least like to lure their victims into a fall sense of comfort. Nothing he says matches up with the way he lives his life. And he is against any form of adaptation or bettering his situation, he is determined to stew in passive misery and he hates when anyone changes his situation yet he does nothing to stop when they do. Both Claudia and Lestat had way less choice in vampirism and were victimized by it horrifically but try to find happiness in their existence, and Louis who searches internally for happiness endlessly never tries to make it himself. Yet he will risk it all for love, only if it literally comes barging through his life at the expense of everyone around him. You can hate Book!Louis as a character but I don't think you have any right to call him dull... it's just inaccurate...this man is insane.
