Finduilas, Imrahil, and baby Boromir for @boromir-week Day 2: Son of Finduilas, Maternal Family!

Elanor daydreams of Queen Evenstar. She fantasizes of dancing with her, the Queen in silks, herself in bright garlands. She dreams of Arwen sweeping her off her feet beneath the moonlit sky. She sighs at the thought of resting her head on Arwen’s bosom, feeling her warmth, and knows it would be a trial not to press a kiss upon her breast. That first spring of her service to the Queen, Elanor thinks only of dance. Her daydreams fade when summer warms— but only when Lady Éowyn arrives from Ithilien, and she starts to muse on riding with her, instead.

for @tolkienfemfeb day 11, using the quote prompt “May I not now spend my life as I will?” and the generator's suggestion of Nienna x Elwing!

She kneels before the Vala, all her rage and fear and despair boiling over. “They are lost to me, forever!” she cries. “It has been a hundred years. Why can I not move on? Why must I yet suffer, when I know they live, and live well? May I not now spend my life as I will? Must I dwell always in the past, and never in the present?” Nienna, shrouded and masked, reaches an insubstantial hand down to her cheek, caressing her. The very touch eases something in Elwing’s heart, and she sobs with the release, her whole body trembling. Dear child, the Valië whispers. You hurt because you love them. To let go of your past, you must let go of your love. “I cannot,” Elwing gasps between the waves of tears, mingling with the rain upon her skin. “I am their mother. I cannot! Is there nothing else I can do?” You can learn, Elwing Dioriel. Learn to live with your pain, rather than warring against it. “Teach me, then,” Elwing begs. “Teach me to—to forgive. To find peace. To become something other than myself.” Nienna wipes a tear from Elwing’s eye mournfully. I cannot change you. “Then teach me to change myself! I cannot live like this any longer!” She would rather cast herself into the sea, like the Kinslayer did with that damned jewel, than breathe another second in this agony. (She does not tell the Valië this, but Nienna is within her and without her. She knows.) Dear Elwing, she murmurs, and another wave of catharsis shudders through her body. I will teach you what I can.

Bird brothers: Eluréd and Elurín!

I made these little guys for the @tolkienrsb 2024. The accompanying fic, by Quente, will be available to read on September 6!

Eluréd is modeled after the white-tailed eagle; for Elurín, I used the Eurasian tree sparrow as a model. Both birbs are made with air-dry clay.

My art for the @tolkienrsb 2023! This is an AU where Maedhros and Fingon elope into the wilds of Valinor~

But when they were landed, Maedhros the eldest of his sons, and on a time the boyfriend of Fingon ere Morgoth's lies came between (they’re husbands now it’s nbd), spoke to Fëanor, saying: “Now what ships and rowers will you spare to return, and whom shall they bear hither first? Fingolfin my father-in-law? BTW Fingon’s already here, don’t be mad...”

AHHH thank you so much!! I wouldn't say it's perfect though. There are definitely mistakes in it 😅 and it's somewhat simplified, 'cause I couldn't bother with actually learning which muscle does what. But anyways, I love drawing anatomy and so I'm absolutely not bothered at all by your question!

Since you didn't specify, I can only give you these off the top of my head. They helped me a lot with making my anatomy look more natural.

Here I go with my basic english skills, trying to explain anatomy

The head fits roughly 7.5 times into the body

There is a line that connects the inner side of the knee with the hip bone (caused by different muscles in the leg) that causes an indentation in the leg

The angle of the calf muscles and the angle of the ankles are opposites

Those calf muscles squish outwards when kneeling

When drawing the neck/shoulders, you should never forget about the "Trapezius" muscle

The bone on the outer side of your wrist is more pronounced than the one on the inner side

The triceps appears to be longer than the biceps

The hand is approximately as long as the distance from the chin to the hairline

Hi! I'm not sure which specific kissing tutorial you are referring to, but I do have a few reblogged under the tag kissing tutorial here and kissing ref here.

This is less of a tutorial and more helpful notes on drawing kissing I found on twitter.

I had to learn how to draw the head in different perspectives besides the basic ones, that’s how u make the kiss look less stiff and awkward and actually make it look like a kiss. look for reference poses, i practiced with those a lot, don´t be afraid to practice different perspectives beside the side view, bonus points cause u wont have to draw the lips from a back view lol 

Also lips ARE SQUISHY and sometimes, depending on how deep or open mouthed the kiss is the lips may not even be that visible, they´ll just look like lines sometimes. Remember to use references, they help a lot, also nose positioning you’ll have to find out by pure observation lol so ye references.
