K I N K Y !

As  much  as  the  bar's  color  scheme  offends  his  sense  of  interior  design,  Lucifer  finds  himself  there  this  evening.  I  mean,  what  an  eyesore.  His  internal  monologue  matches  the  aesthetic  of  the  corner  of  the  lobby.  Ugly  and  disorganized,  bitter  with  age,  and  decidedly  aware  of  just  how  out  of  place  it  is.  What  else  draws  someone  to  a  bar  like  this?

Truthfully,  he'd  hoped  he'd  be  alone.  It's  late  into  the  hours  of  the  night,  and  hell,  he'd  tend  himself,  but  the  feline  behind  the  counter  wouldn't  hear  a  word  of  it.  He's  a  nice  fellow,  really.  A  soft  voice.  Lucifer  finds  himself,  temporarily  plucked  from  his  misery,  wondering  whether  or  not  Husker  is  permitted  to  leave  the  bar....or  if  the  radio  demon  has  something  to  do  with  just  how  adamant  he  is.  The  thought  adds  to  his  disgruntled  expression,  lips  pursed. 

The  king  nearly  jumps,  hands  clasping  the  bar's  edge  as  Angel  Dust  announces  his  presence.  He  doesn't  recover  quickly,  giving  the  actor  a  sheepish  grin  and  a  flimsy  chuckle.  "Eh-heh...No...uh...."  His  tone  drops  a  step  or  two,  folding  his  arms  on  the  counter  and  leaning  forward  as  if  defeated.  "Hard  millennium,"  he  admits.  But  the  last  seven  have  been  a  real  fucking  kick  in  the  teeth. 

Without  looking,  Lucifer  intercepts  the  sliding  glass  with  his  palm,  feeling  the  liquid  slosh  over  his  glove.  Slowly,  the  fallen  glances  at  the  spider,  seeing  his  smile.  It  elicits  one  from  him,  a  mirror.  "Of  course,  we  can...and  uh⸺"  He  leans  over,  one  hand  covering  the  side  of  his  mouth,  "you  didn't  hear  it  from  me,  but  there's  booze  if  you  know  where  to  look."  A  genuine  laugh  now,  musical  as  he  throws  his  head  back. 

"Actually,  you  did  hear  it  from  me.  You're  gonna  need  it  when  you  make  it  up  there."

angel’s body aches from his day of work, but it doesn't compete with how tired the king looks now. his eyes show just how old he is, the depths that angel finds himself diving into. there's warmth there too, somewhere. the usual smile on his face is drawn now, showing the frown lines from his nose to his mouth. angel finds himself staring too long and covers it by knocking back a shot. “a millennium, huh?” the arachnid nods his head with a little scoff. “that's rough, pal. I think you need this more than I do,” he teases playfully. he pours himself another shot.

the smile on lucifer’s face warms him up as he gathers more confidence over…..whatever the fuck was happening. his smile widens at his joke as a stream of his own laughter flows from him. “i’ll take your word for it, of course you'd know where ta find the good stuff.” angel gives him a knowing smirk as he physically leans in. not too much, but noticeably getting comfortable. though, he's not prepared to hear what comes from the king next.

his smirk falters and his eyes soften. when you make it up there. the kindness behind it stabs him hard. how hopeful, just like his daughter. he pulls back again and nurses the shot in his hand carefully. a bittersweet feeling washes over him as he downs it. how could so many people believe in him when he couldn't even believe in himself? anthony can only hope that he'll be redeemed and be worthy of it.

　" Aww, I dunno... " Husk smirks, as he gestures behind Angel to the empty lobby. " I got one hell of a crowd to handle before I can take a break. " He chuckles softly to himself. " Gimme a minute to wash up and tell Charlie, yeah? "

　He doesn't answer right away either. It feels almost like he's ignoring Angel, forcing him to sit in silence for a few minutes as punishment for the attitude. When he feels satisfied with the time out, Valentino sets his phone face down on the nearest surface and sighs.

Lucifer, midstep, stops in his tracks, eyes shifting to the side before his head follows. How original. "Uh-huh." The king looks him up and down, both hands perched on the apple of his cane. "You're one of Charlie's friends, so the pleasure is all mine!" In fact, he leans forward, reaching out to shake the pink creature's hand. The awkwardness of the interaction doesn't escape him. In fact, it's quite crushing. He's never been adept at small talk. A human pastime, really.

"So! Are you enjoying yourself at the ah⸺HAZBIN HOTEL, Ha-HA! I hear there have been trust falls and such. My daughter⸺," He begins to reminisce, eyes sparkling. "she's such a silly goose! She....she gets it from me." He says with a sigh...

the starlet despises alastor's eyes. the way they pry without trying. always wide and seeking. it strips angel in a way that makes him feel vulnerable. he retreats far, far inside himself. his face twitches in discomfort before it creates an unsteady smirk. he knows what alastor means but he bares his fangs like any threatened spider. "the twenty guys that ran a train on me during a shoot today, you interested in being added to the list?"

Stopping in his tracks, the simple curiosity cast out behind him like an afterthought, Alastor's frame becomes rigid. Should he expect anything more from the starlet? Angel Dust has a particular talent⸺deflection and discomfort. Quite effective, he'd say in STIFLING any concerns or questions others may have. The tack is, he will admit, particularly effective in HIS CASE, as well. The demon is no stranger to expletives, vitriol, and all manner of unsavory things being cast his way. It's HELL AFTERALL, and the despicable will do as they please....however, no sinner has been quite so persistent as the actor before him. In reality, no attempter has lived long enough to harass! HA-HAA! But the arachnid is an amusing little exception, isn't he?

It would be simple, peaceful even, to ignore his outburst and continue on his merry way to his room for a midnight snack. This is what he has done in the past.

The radio demon turns slowly on his heel, a snap of his hoof-like shoes signaling his attention as static continues to swim over his irises. No, no! He won't be yielding to Angel's NONSENSE or his diversion this evening.

"'Ran a train'....on your eye, my fibbing friend?" There is no humor, no grandiosity to his usual flamboyant tone, head tilting in wonderment as he confronts the hotel denizen directly. "No, no. Why would I HURT you, Angel?" He's curious to hear. There is no right or wrong answer...but the likelihood that the actor will answer is slim to none, of course.

With precision, Alastor extends his cane, poking the fluff of the spider's chest, the interference in the air dissipating until only a low fizzle remains. "Now, I will ask again. Who hurt you?"

then he hears it. charlie's voice in his head. calm down, relax, breathe.

he promised to be on his best behavior. he promised. angel takes a moment to sneer, stopping his sentence right then and there. his four hands come up to grab at alastor's cane. he doesn't let go either, simply keeping him there as pink hues remain steadfast on that condescending grin. "don't fuckin' touch me and don't fuckin' ask questions you don't actually care to know. there ain't nothing you can do about who hurt me and.....neither can i."
