chaos was not something the seraphim was unfamiliar with, tasked with entertaining those in heaven was simple compared to being of a spokesperson between the two realms. her frequent visits to the realm down below were as pleasant as they could be; being bombarded by both sinners and hellborn alike, as pleasant as they were, it was rather frustrating she so rarely is given any ample opportunity to check in on those she wishes to seek.

it would eventually die down of course after a week or so, she'd find it easier to slink away from a smaller crowd quoting she had some ' hotel duties ' that demanded her attention. after getting lost on more than one occasion, the angel was confident she had found the correct room. gentle hands fidgeted with the seams of her dress, she would self chastised herself out loud ( soft, stern whisper ) as she'd flatten out the wrinkles.

quiet inhale, hand rising to meet with eroded door freezing suddenly just when it's about to make contact. staring wide eyed now, like a deer in headlights , she blinks slowly then recognizes that she should speak ! say something ! balled hand transitions into a wave, nervously falling to her side, teasing with the fabric.

❝ hi ! hello i i'm so sorry is now a good time ? i just wanted to properly introduce myself to you and to also see how you've been doing since the erm... ❞ her gaze leaves his, gold wing twitching slightly, shimmering through anxious fidgets. emily looks back at him again, straining a smile. ❝ but you look great ! i'm happy to see you're doing better ! ❞

It's  been  all  hustle  and  bustle  since  the  battle.  Sinners,  with  their  homes,  families,  and  entire  afterlives  destroyed  by  the  tiresome  television  tantrum,  have  flocked  to  the  hotel.  With  them,  they  carry  hope  of  redemption,  a  new  start...and  perhaps  a  desire  to  grab  at  their  own  slice  of  power,  the  overlord  thinks.

Princess  Morningstar,  in  all  her  excitement,  has  urged  him  to  help  these  wayward  souls  settle  in...and  that  he  has.  However,  he  seeks  the  solace  of  privacy  whenever  he  can  manage  it  amongst  the  chaos.  It  is  in  this  particular  peaceful  and  relative  silence  that  he  finds  himself  when  the  rap  on  his  door  arrives.

Book  in  one  hand  and  a  cup  of  Ridgways  iced  tea  resting  against  the  other,  Alastor's  ears  flit  towards  the  sound.  For  a  moment,  he  returns  to  the  hum  of  the  swamp  insects,  raising  the  cup  to  his  lips  to  sip.  Finally,  he  dissolves,  a  shadowy  form  reappearing  at  the  door  and  opening  it.

My,  my!  This  is  a  surprise.

The  radio  demon  watches  her  fidget  and  stumble  over  her  words,  keen  on  letting  her  finish.  For  a  moment,  his  gaze  flits  to  her  wing,  recalling  the  shower  of  pale  feathers  above  him  as  he  fell,  positively  gushing  crimson.  The  crushing  pain  of  that  mutt's  fangs  radiates  even  still  in  his  arm.  Its  bark  was  most  certainly  NOT  worse  than  its  bite. 

“Ah!  Emily—Why,  Charlie  has  told  us  all  so  much  about  you.  It's  my  pleasure  to  make  your  proper  acquaintance  at  last,  my  dear…”  In  fact,  the  Princess  of  Hell  can't  seem  to  STOP  singing  theseraphim's  praises,  and  Alastor's  tone  makes  that  abundantly  clear.  Mild  vexation  aside,  Alastor  wouldn't  dare  turn  her  away…yet.  No,  no. 

“Alastor!”  He  uncurls  a  clawed  hand  leisurely,  offering  to  shake.  “⸺And  yes,  I've  had  far  FAR  worse,”  He  finishes  with  a  less-than-innocent  chuckle.  As  for  her,  he  isn't  convinced  she's  experienced  anything  quite  like  it  before.  Her  injury  was  severe,  he  imagines…especially  to  those  above. 

“I  see  you've  been  tended  to,  hm?  Very  impressive…a  bit  flashy.” 

            𝐃𝐄𝐒𝐏𝐈𝐓𝐄  𝐇𝐄𝐑  𝐃𝐈𝐒𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐎𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓  𝐈𝐍  𝐀𝐋𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐑  𝐖𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐆  𝐇𝐈𝐒  𝐖𝐀𝐘  𝐎𝐔𝐓  𝐎𝐅  𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐈𝐑  𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐂𝐓,  she's  happy  to  welcome  him  when  he  comes  strolling  through  The  Emporium.  Though  she'd  never  admit  to  it  aloud,  it  is  something  of  a  relief  to  see  him  a  little  more...  himself.  Things  had  been  getting  rather  tense  between  them  towards  the  end.

After  nearly  an  entire  week  of  scream  rain  interspersed  with  bouts  of  acid,  the  sky  is  finally  relatively  clear.  The  sun  doesn't  shine  down  upon  hell  EVER,  per  se,  but  the  weather  is,  indeed,  pleasant.  Crimson  clouds  drift  languidly  above  Cannibal  Town,  and  the  trees  sway  with  a  chilly  breeze.  One  might  think  that  the  radio  demon  emerged  from  the  hustle  and  bustle  of  the  city  to  enjoy  said  weather.  While  he  does  lift  his  chin,  eyes  closed  briefly  as  he  pauses  in  front  of  Rosie's  shop,  enjoying  the  caress  of  the  wind,  he  has  more  in  mind  than  a  simple  walk  in  nature.  The  deer  is  participating  in  the  long  game,  as  is  his  way.

"Rosie  sweetheart!"  Alastor  announces  his  presence  with  a  twirl  of  his  staff,  eyes  narrowing  a  fraction  at  her  comment.  It's  all  in  good  fun,  he's  certain. 

"Early!?  Come  now..."

Alastor  watches  as  various  patrons  decide  to  take  their  leave  behind  him,  prematurely,  he  assumes.  He  can't  imagine  the  overlord  enjoys  having  her  business  disturbed  by  his  presence...yet,  a  few  stragglers  remain.  His  performance  the  week  prior  must  have  ruffled  a  few  feathers.  He  can't  recall  ever  seeing  the  denizens  of  Cannibal  Town  scatter  at  the  sight  of  him... A  good  sign.  His  mood  only  bolsters.

"You  know  I  simply  can't  stay  away  for  too  long,"  He  says  with  confidence.  Yes,  now  that  he  has  a  choice,  he  thinks  he  may  drop  in  positively  FREQUENTLY.  "I  see  business  is  booming!  The  V's  little  tantrum  didn't  put  a  damper  on  this  side  of  the  Pentagram,  did  it?"

        𝐑𝐎𝐒𝐈𝐄 𝐃𝐎𝐄𝐒𝐍'𝐓 𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑 𝐋𝐎𝐒𝐄 𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐏𝐎𝐒𝐔𝐑𝐄, least of all around someone she considers a dear friend. She's always prided herself on being a lady first and foremost. As the saying goes: one attracts more flies with honey rather than vinegar. She didn't acquire her status as one of Hell's most powerful Overlords by brute force or flashy shows of violence alone. She didn't have to. People respected her because she endeared them to her. Perhaps that is why Alastor's scathing remarks cut so deeply.

        They are not at the Emporium. There is no need for pretenses here in the privacy and comfort of her own home. It's easier to let the mask slip, easier to let her guard down when no one but her trusted friend is around to see it. So, she angers. Bristles under his scrutiny. She's pouring the scalding tea into his lap before she fully realises what she's doing. It feels good all the same. The shock that flickers briefly in Alastor's expression feels like a victory on its own. She rises from her chair, slowly circling the small table until she stands before him.

        ❝  Oh, darling — I do believe you have it all backwards. Quite boorish of you, really, to insult a lady in her own home!  ❞ The radio static trickling in doesn't go unnoticed, but she isn't afraid. Rather, the obvious signs of Alastor's rancor emboldens her to push him further. The now-empty tea cup is set aside. Rosie bends at the waist, becoming eye level with the Radio Demon still seated in his chair. ❝  Retaliation is only natural for such an un-gentlemanly show of character. Where have your manners gone, hm? Did that impromptu vacation of yours strip you of all good reason as well?  ❞

        Perhaps Alastor was long overdue for a reminder of Rosie's status.

        ❝  Disrespect me again, and you'll be the one losing your head. Permanently.  ❞

        The Overlord smiles, wide and unnatural, showing off her razor-sharp teeth. Black blood drips between the cracks. Nails extend into sharp claws, one slipping beneath the band of his bowtie. She is tapping into a well of demonic power she seldom uses. This isn't just petty revenge. It's a warning.

Alastor  is  certainly  no  stranger  to  making  a  show  of  his  power.  In  fact,  upon  his  arrival  in  the  inferno,  it  seem  to  be  simply  ALL  he  did.  That  was,  of  course,  until  a  show  of  strength  was  no  longer  required.  No,  no,  it  didn't  take  long  for  sinners  and  overlords  alike  to  turn  tail  and  flee  before  any  such  display  was  necessary.  And  for  the  sake  of  remaining  perfectly  plain,  he  prefers  it  this  way.

What  a  waste  it  was,  flashing  pointed  teeth  at  those  who  were  witless  enough  to  beg  him  for  it.  However,  there  are  instances  in  which  it  is  earned.  Those  are  the  moments  he  has  taken  a  SHINE  to  the  most.

And  who  in  the  circles  has  proved  themselves  more  deserving  than  his  darling  Rosie?

For  a  moment,  the  radio  demon's  pupils  follow  her  as  she  circles,  but  loses  sight  of  her  as  she  slinks  somewhere  behind.  Dully,  he  looks  ahead,  listening  to  her  stern  reprimand.  For  the  moment,  he  is  still.  The  only  sign  of  distain  comes  in  the  form  of  a  twitch,  his  ear  flicking  away  such  accusations.

As  the  overlord  bends,  meeting  his  gaze,  Alastor  chooses  to  watch  as  onyx  liquid  drips  tantalizingly  through  barred  fangs  and  onto  her  chin.  The  shade  compliments  the  red-hot  glow  of  his  eyes.  Within  them,  a  flicker  of  green  as  she  lifts  his  bowtie.  The  tug  beckons  him  forwards,  the  stag  leaning  forward  almost  imperceptibly.  A  warning  or  a  challenge?  That  is  the  question.

The  spot  on  his  trousers,  previously  scorched  by  hot  tea,  begins  to  turn  cold.  The  tendrils  of  icy  silence  wraps  itself  around  himself  and  Rosie  in  turn,  capturing  them.

With  a  flash,  Alastor's  hand  finds  her  throat,  claws  already  making  themselves  at  home  within  her  skin.  The  warmth  of  her  blood  soothes  his  flesh,  rewarding  him  for  his  aggression.
