Feather  light,  the  pad  of  his  index  finger  plays  along  the  curve  of  her  hip.  He  follows  her  body,  moves  with  each  dip  as  if  studying...or  perhaps  painting  her.  The  morning  sun  of  the  Pride  ring  spreads  warmth  over  them  both,  a  gentle  breeze  wafting  in  from  the  open  terrace  doors.  Paradise  lost?  Says  who?  The  first  woman's  words  cause  a  smirk  to  tug  at  his  cheeks,  a  softness  settling  over  his  irises.  She  was  never  an  angel,  yes,  but  he  understands  exactly  what  she  means.  Were  they  not  all  created  holy?  "Well...  angels  are  overrated,"  He  finally  scoffs,  a  bright  humor  lacing  his  tone.  A  bit  of  self-deprecation.  "You,  my  sweet  pear,  are  divine."

Lucifer  has  never  been  wonderful  with  normal...or  perhaps  aesthetically  pleasing  terms  of  endearment.  Sometimes,  he  blindly  strikes  gold...but  even  when  he  doesn't,  he  makes  it  sound  natural.  "Sometimes...I  wonder  if  I  ever  was  one."  An  angel.  Foolish  to  think  it.  Of  course,  he  was.  Is?  The  lines  are  so  blurry.  "What  do  you  think,  hm?" He  pulls  himself  away  from  his  introspection  and  back  to  his  wife,  locking  eyes  with  her  where  he  lies,  spooning  her.  "You  think  I'm...uh...angel-y?  Still?"  The  king  stumbles  over  his  words,  eyes  wide  and  expectant.

I had, as I've seen many people have, a difficult time with the way they portrayed Lucifer in season 2. I really felt like they did something special and neat with him in season 1. They sort of nailed his character...this season not so much. He's not in it much, which is fine, but when we do see him, I feel that he's very out of character. They dumbed him down into something expendable. I think the decision to make him not able to harm sinners was weak. I know why they needed to do it, but they could have gone about it in a way that enhanced his character rather than took from it. Perhaps he CAN hurt sinners, but there are dire consequences. Or he CAN, but he thinks controlling the population by force would make him align with the values of heaven...or worse, God. There are so many possibilities here. This is a really sloppy and quick post about how I feel. I may talk more about it later.

The  call  shakes  his  body  before  it  reaches  his  ears.  Like  a  thunder  in  his  chest,  his  own  name  rattles  his  bones.  Sitting  straight  up,  hair  tousled,  chest  heaving,  the  fallen  angel  blinks,  trying  to  clear  the  sleep  from  his  eyes...and  his  mind. 

He  can  still  feel  the  wind  against  his  body,  the  weightlessness  of  flight.  The  Light  Bringer  often  dreams  of  flying.  What  in  the  name  of  Satan?  Literally,  he  supposes.  He  knows  that  voice  well.

He  slides  off  his  lounge  chair,  and  his  bathrobe  falls  around  his  shoulders  as  he  does  so.  The  king  is  content  to  wait  for  his  arrival.  He  does  not  rush  to  meet  him...nor  does  he  avoid  the  chaos  such  a  creature  brings.  He  simply  waits,  dark  circles  pooling  beneath  his  eyes,  staining  porcelain  skin.  "To  what  do  I  owe  this  pleasure...this  time?"
