mutuals can always dm me but be warned i talk like your coworker who is trying too hard to get to know you and my response times are akin to the response times you might get if we were communicating by letter
ive just been struck with the fact that, no matter what i do or wear or look like, God will love me no matter what
THE BEAUTY IS THAT GOD MADE YOU QUEER, AND SO HE HAS KNOWN ALL ALONG THAT YOU WERE. AND WHEN YOU FINALLY STUMBLED UPON IT, HE CELEBRATED IN JOY !
today, on the feast of the transfiguration, i am reminded of our transgender siblings in Christ. i am reminded of Jesus exposing his divinity, showing himself as he truly is, just as trans christians expose the glory and beauty of their gender through transition. i am reminded how transformation-- transfiguration-- is a holy act, practiced both by trans christians and Christ alike. i am reminded that they are God's children, beloved just like Jesus, His son, and I am awed

a compilation of posts that contributed to my conversion

"I asked chatgpt" oh okay well I asked Jesus and he said that everyone deserves rights soooo
Art with Jesus having the kindest eyes and the scruffiest beard gets me every time. Like he purposefully didn’t look ‘holy’ or ‘regal’ he was your neighbor. He was your carpenter.
Yay an excuse to share my favorite paintings by Henryk Hector Siemiradzki!
friendly reminder that you don't need to agonise about whether you've been forgiven for your sins. He forgave you before you even committed them. He's forgiven you for things you haven't even done yet. you're forgiven.

You can love your neighbor and not love God, secular people do it all the time, with great success. The reverse however, is not true. If you do not love your neighbor, than you can not love God. Any Christian that would send away the immigrant, the queer, the poor, or the marginalized - would nail Christ to the cross. The Holy spirit dwells in the detention center and prisons, the bath houses and whore houses, the section-8 housing and the homeless shelter, for we are all made in the image of God.
august is the month of Marys Immaculate Heart!
Immaculata, purest of mortal souls, pray for us and hold us within your sinless heart 🩷
If I see you using AI to make "art" of Saints or with scripture in it, I AM BLOCKING YOU. There is nothing honourable about using artificial intelligence to honour God. As a matter of fact, not only is it dishonourable, it is dishonest.
There is nothing holy about being too lazy to make your own art and, yes, I am including the disabled in this post. I'm disabled as well, but I still manage to make my own art with my own two hands!
Here's a mixed list of historical and modern disabled, hands-on artists that don't use AI nor do they have AI usage controversies to my knowledge:
Briel Adams-Wheatley (MUA with no arms or legs)
Sarah Biffin (19th century performer and painter born without arms or legs)
Christy Brown (1932-1981 -- man with cerebral palsy who became a novelist, painter, and poet)
Ludwig van Beethoven (early 19th century pianist and composer -- deaf, used bone conduction to "hear" the things he was composing and playing)
Claude Monet (18th and early 19th century painter -- developed cataracts later in life, adjusting his colour palettes to be more accessible so he could continue painting)
Mick Mars (Motley Crue lead guitarist, suffers with the progressive chronic illness ankylosing spondylitis, mainly affecting the spine and pelvis but can affect other parts of the body--such as the hands--as well, with symptoms first manifesting during adolescence to early adulthood. Mick Mars has been active since 1965 and is still presently active as of 2026)
Will add more as I learn of more!

Understated and very funny issue the Catholic Church faces as time goes on: modern saints aren't gonna be depicted in robes or anything like that, they're just gonna be wearing t-shirts
The contemporary fit kinda clashes with the broader church aesthetic
Secondary problem: new saints means it's easier to traffic relics, cause the Church will prioritise parts of their body, meaning if you move fast you can throw things like their smartphone on ebay for a quick buck
I don't know much about the Catholic church, but reading about this kid is kind of wild. He tragically died of Leukemia aged 15, and the reason that he's now been canonized as a saint is, on two separate occasions long after his death, the families of sick people have prayed to him for intercession, and they were miraculously healed. Fair enough, I guess. But in terms of what he was actually able to do in his short life, apart from being very religiously active, wise and discerning beyond his years, one thing I found was that he designed a couple of websites for the church, and as a result has since been dubbed the 'Saint of the Internet' and 'God's Influencer', and is often depicted with a laptop. And I know it was because of the posthumous 'miracles', but it's fun to imagine a scenario where the Pope made a teenage kid into a Saint for doing some light coding, because nobody at the Vatican was tech-savvy enough to know how to do it.

Mind-blowing theology for baby Catholics
hey, new catholics! especially those of you who come from Evangelical and Protestant backgrounds. i just wanted to list some things off that blew my MIND when i learned them during/after converting:
the Rapture is not Biblical--it was an idea invented and popularized around 1830 by a man named John Darby (allegedly to sell more Bibles)
generational curses generally aren't believed in--you are not at fault for the sins of people who died long before you were born
lots of Catholics don't believe in or recognize the validity of glossolalia (speaking in tongues) as it can be too easily coerced, is usually complete gibberish, and there is no way to verify the authenticity. Historically, Catholicism views speaking in tongues as miraculously speaking real foreign languages to preach the gospel, not the unverifiable, ecstatic speech popular in evangelical circles.
There is no "Sinner's Prayer"! In Evangelical circles, repeating a quick prayer to accept Jesus into your heart is often treated as an instantaneous, permanent absolution of sins, but Catholicism doesn't recognize a magic verbal formula for salvation. It is completely wrong to treat faith like a "get out of jail free card" where someone can commit horrific atrocities (like rape, murder, genocide, or child molestation) and think a half-assed 30-second prayer magically wipes away the spiritual and moral debt without deep, agonizing repentance, a transformed life, and real justice. Salvation isn't a one-and-done transaction; it's a lifelong journey of walking with God, receiving the sacraments, and actively living out His love and justice every single day.
As a matter of fact, on that note, if a person gets caught doing something bad, like touching kids inappropriately or abusing their spouse, and then goes to confession for their sins but has no intention of stopping, that itself is a sin--it renders the confession invalid and adds the sin of lying and sacrilege. I was actually told by my priest to never say anything in confession that I didn't feel bad for, since that would put me at risk for sinning (he knew I was queer, which I confessed, but he was pretty queer-affirming and just told me God doesnt care about that but we can still pray about it anyway to help me feel stronger in ALL parts of my identity).
Drinking alcohol is NOT a sin! This is a huge shocker for people from strict evangelical backgrounds. Catholicism has zero issues with alcohol. Jesus's first miracle was literally keeping a wedding party going with more wine! The only sin here is excess (drunkenness/gluttony) because it messes with your free will and reason. If you're drinking responsibly and staying safe, you have the total green light to party on! (This also applies to cannabis and other psychoactive substances such as prescription painkillers after a surgery, in my opinion, but that is just my interpretation).
