If I can be heretical on main, I don’t really like the whole Catholic rule that lying is always wrong. Not just because of the whole classic “lying to Nazis to protect Jewish people in your basement” scenario but also because as a closeted queer person I do kinda have to lie sometimes so I don’t get hatecrimed or disowned, and I think any God worth God’s salt wouldn’t hold that against me.

when I was a teenager and a friend became extremely active in gay rights activism, I joined her and thought it meant I could never be a Christian or any Abrahamic religion (which caused an insane amount of fall out with my family). it seems to have completely inverted now which makes absolutely no sense at all to me. It's like most of the mainline Protestants (and many lay Roman Catholics) changed what god they're worshipping.

I wonder how St. Jeanne D’Arc feels about the rich Catholic leaders and apologists who constantly insist that she was actually super feminine and gender conforming. I wonder how it must feel to be claimed as a perfectly pure martyred saintly icon by the same type of people who burned you at the stake for wearing men’s clothes. I wonder if she flinches whenever she sees another Good Catholic Family force their tomboy daughters to shave and wear long flowy dresses to Mass. I wonder if she’s proud of me.

I pray the rosary every night. I have been very consistent lately. But I was so upset yesterday that I couldn't bring myself to do it. I hate that because I know the time I should turn to prayer the most is in times of distress
