Titles Are Stupid

Okay so I was aware of their au for a while but randomly today I decided to remember it and watched all the Tinker Bell movies (YES all of them) in one day.

I regret nothing

It was until after I watched the first movie that I realized this au was actually inspired by it (I know I'm a dummy sometimes). So I’m glad tho because (1 I got hit by a wave on nostalgia and (2 it made me appreciate this au more

I knew when I was creating the fanart that they were actually making a fan comic of the au so don't take my art as fan-canon but I wanted to make Aizawa as a human. It will most likely not happen but I'm just having fun with this au :) (NEVER MIND ITS CANON)

Think about it. On his own Kane Pixels was making backrooms YouTube videos using the free software Blender. Because he was just a 16 year old kid doing this for fun in his spare time.

But now he’s got to direct a feature length movie. And if he wants actors running through those same blender environments, that’s going to be super expensive hiring visual effects companies to rotoscope and green screen composite and motion track all those shots. A handful of visual effect shots can cost thousands of dollars a day.

So what’s the solution? JUST FUCKING BUILD IT.

It’s cheaper to just build 30,000 square feet of walls and wallpaper than it is to composite 500 effects shots.

What about the monster? JUST BUILD A PUPPET. It’s cheaper to build a puppet and hire a really tall thin guy to operate it than it is to 3D model, animate, and composite it into the film. And look! Bonus! Anytime the puppet interacts with the real world it looks REAL. Because it’s a real physical object in the set!

You need your character to run through a room of couches? Just buy (or rent) a bunch of couches and put them in a room!

And even when you do use visual effects for set extensions, you still film as much practically as possible. Like my favorite example, when Mary runs out into this alleyway… JUST FILM A REAL ALLEYWAY OUTSIDE and add the walls in post!

It’s easy to say that cyber bullying doesn’t matter in the real world or whatever but targeted online bullying campaigns have the power to wreck entire communities and support networks.

It’s difficult to just turn off your computer when all the people who relate to this aspect of your life are in there.

I’ve definitely met other asexual and arospec people irl but it’s quite rare. And real life queer spaces are in fact often bars or kink spaces. And like bully for you if you like kink or alcohol or romance but when your entire identity is based around not feeling the feelings often associated with romance and/or sex that’s not always super fun.

And people got relentlessly mocked for bringing up this issue. Shut down. Called childish. Like okay. Fuck us for wanting a sober non sexual spot to meet other queers, right? So childish for wanting options.

I’ve been involved in the online asexual community and doing education about asexuality and aromanticism in both irl and online queer spaces for almost fourteen years now and that short period of time around 2016-2018 took a wrecking ball to my people that I feel like we’ve still barely recovered from and I’m still angry about it.
