I don't think he was ever good, but at the beginning one of his intentions was to protect the weaker one (skekShod), which sorta counts as noble. As trines passed by he became more unhinged (thanks to many punishments) and started to do things just because. Enraging the Emperor, defying the rules, tormenting slaves... Stuck in his punk/revolutinary era, enjoing his freedom, he will never grow up, while seeing himself as a misunderstood hero who is always in the right.
