Goddesses of sovereignty, battle-scarred ravens of the fields In a land forever embroiled in battle, whose history haunts the living alongside the dead. Though the canons are long silent, battles still rage between the city streets and Spanish moss Reminding us we haven’t truly learned from our past. Give us strength as we continue to fight, Frenzy when needed, sewing disorder that we might regain sovereignty in our own lives And for those whose sovereignty has long been held captive.
