I can’t be nice while I’m like this. I can’t be nice and sweet and accommodating and selfless when I feel like I’m on fire from the inside out. I know I’m supposed to be nice. That’s my whole thing as a people pleaser. But I can’t. I try to swallow the agony and put on a good smile but it comes back up and consumes me whole. All I can do is be snappy and snarky and mean. The pain is making me mean. It’s not in my control. It’s not like I’m choosing this. I can’t help it. I’m trying to control it and I can’t. The pain is controlling me.
