i love the amphibia fandom because anne/marcy and anne/sasha were clearly gonna b 2 popular ships w opposing friends-to-lovers and enemies-to-lovers dynamics with sasha/marcy being less popular because they have less interactions and based on what i’ve seen before i honestly thought i was gonna have to sit thru a shipping war but no. we all just collectively decided no we’re not gonna do that actually. we’re gonna do polyamory. and i think that’s beautiful.

amphibia isnt just a silly cartoon its a whole immersive experience like you just have to be there . watching true colors now isn't the same as watching it after it got delayed, censored, leaked, AND the whole sprig voice in-advance warning hysteria at the beginning of the ep on may 2021 . watching commander anne now isnt the same as watching it with the "in commander anne sasha is revealed to be attracted to women" copypasta plague . watching the finales now aren't the same as watching it when the anne arm amputation one eyed sasha "anne boonchuy dies of overdose at 37 yrs old" thing was going insane . you just had to be there . what im saying is that it was a disney cartoon and we were all on drugs

no because i dont think you understand how insanely absurd amphibia was . like ok, the premise is a funny frog show, cool . and then it was like if someone had run a malicious social experiment in which three girls at their Peak Thirteen is whisked away into a completely new world with new rules and given fucking weapons, and the result is unsuprisingly game of thrones esque . right . and then one of them tried to overthrow the lizard government, cool . and the other stabbed on screen through the heart and used as a vessel for an eldritch demon because she beat the Evil Lizard King at chess . and then said lizard government invaded earth in a flying spaceship castle and had fbi agent rupaul chasing after them . and then he played as if its your last by BLACKPINK on giant speakers in the streets so that the thirteen years old girls could defeat the eldritch lizards with armor suits armed with bombs. and then as if that wasnt enough they also had to defeat the fucking moon with their powers . and one of the girls had to sacrifice themselves . and oh hey, remember when i said it's like as if someone was running a malicious social experiment ? yeah it was God. Capital G. and the thirteen years old girl who sacrificed herself died and met God, in the form of her CAT. and God with Capital G was like, hey do you're pure of heart and all that jazz, want to replace me as God ? and the thirteen years old girl understandably went I'm Fucking Thirteen. And God was like, fine, okay, you can live again as a copy of yourself until you're 96 until you die and become God i guess. and now she just has to live with that knowledge as she goes on with her day job at the aquarium 10 yrs later, while also in a relationship with the two other girls . what drug do u think was matthew braly on

y’all! i have an explanation! the wonderful @absolutely-correct-amphibia told me what was going on.

When Amphibia was relatively new, maybe around 2019, someone decided to edit some articles on the Amphibia wiki page. I don't know why they did it, but it happened.

One of those edits included Marcy's supposed full name "Marcy Drosselmeyer", I think it was up for quite a while, actually. Long enough for me to think it was legit.

A bunch of people (including me) were fooled by the wiki edit because, after all, why would the wiki lie? It's the wiki. The most reliable source of info. Most people just ran with it, thinking Matt Braly must've tweeted it out or something at one point, until it was discovered that no, he didn't and this was entirely made up. Since I'm not a fandom wiki editor, I cannot give you any info on who did it or when exactly it happened and when it was fixed, so that's all the info I have. A pretty good breakdown of what happened, if you ask me.

pov : you are a middle aged suburban mother . you have a simple suburban home with radium lawns and identic houses on every corner . you have three children as well as a husband who exclaims "honey i'm home" every time he returns home from his 9 to 5 cubicle office job . an american dream, if you will . your middle child is eight years old and sits in front of the tv every saturday at 9:30 am sharp to watch new episodes of their favorite disney cartoon, a silly frog show about a girl having shenanigans and going on wacky adventures with her silly frog friends . you have a young three years old who throws tantrums when not held and a fourteen years old going through their emo phase; there is laundry to do and errands to run, and you are happy enough that one of your child is happily occupied for thirty minutes in front of the tv . you are too busy to really pay attention to what they are really watching.

one day, while walking into your middle child watching their favorite silly frog tv show with a basket of dirty laundry clutched to your side, you watch along in horror as a little girl cry and scream and gets forcibly tortured by a 10 foot tall talking lizard on the kid friendly silly frog show .

or what's supposed to be, anyway .

(what bothers you the most isn't even the way the little girl on tv goes silent and limp after she gets somewhat electrocuted, nor the way she wakes up after a moment of deafening silence while cracking her head and opening all ten of her fiery red eyes—not even when the little girl spoke in an altered, alien voice. it's your child, an eight years old, who does not even stare at the tv in horror . they just stare and nod and mumble to themself "i called it" . it makes you wonder as you shudder to yourself, what kind of horror has this supposedly silly pg-7 cartoon shown your child, and what more is there to come .)
