Good news: if you’re currently laying around and not producing anything, you are a credit to your species.
It’s recently been found that even hive insects rest. Bees will play with colorful toys. Ants sleep for about 1 minute but they do it so frequently it amounts to a few hours per day. Even trees take breaks.
The only things that work without rest are machines; literally everything that lives requires rest.
EVERYTHING THAT LIVES REQUIRES REST. STOP JUDGING YOURSELF FOR NOT BEING A ROBOT.
robots require very frequent breaks! welding machines generally have it programmed in that they can’t run so long they melt themselves. ive overseen two different manufacturing robots now and each of them were fragile, finicky idiots that require constant maintenance and repair. they pause in between moves, in between jobs. you’re always keeping an eye on programming errors, on coolant levels, on heat. you’re always pulling bits of scrap out of joints, sweeping up debris, washing off nozzles and untangling hoses. and even then it snaps a chain and takes a whole morning’s vacation.
even robots need downtime.
Perpetual motion is impossible outside of theories for a reason.
Everything stops, even if just for a minute, but everything does stop.
The fastest way to accomplish The Project is to cease being afraid of The Project. The Project cannot maim you. The Project cannot kill you. The Project is more afraid of you than you are of it. It is okay if The Project turns out differently from how it was in your head, and it is okay if it has flaws. You are capable of engaging with The Project.

you know, only tumblr can grace me with the sight of an openly transphobic fan of TADC and The Coffin of Andy and Leyley
Like girl I have fucking news for you. They're not good ones.
No Voice to Cry Suffering
I don't know if this is a hot take or whatever but I don't think having a genitalia preference is inherently transphobic, because to me genitals are just another body part. It's no different from preferring fat over skinny or tall over short, etc.
The offensive part is when you start using this as an excuse to be disrespectful to people and frame your preferences as their responsibility.
For example:
"I'm sorry but you're just not my type" is completely fine. It's respectful and straight to the point, and you're not belittling their body or implying their body is wrong.
On the contrary, "I'd never date a woman with a penis" or "I'd never date a man with a vagina" is offensive, just like saying "I'd never date a fat chick", because you're pointing out a specific characteristic of their body that's out of their control and, at worst, framing it as something "gross" and "needs fixing".
Not to mention that those phrases are frequently transphobic dogwhistles anyway and, most of the time, you know exactly what you're doing when you say something like that.
My point is: Nobody needs to know what your preferences are. That's something you keep to yourself because you should understand that you still need to be respectful and kind to people you aren't sexually attracted to. You still should be considering people's feelings whether you have empathy or not because it's wrong to hurt innocent people.
Besides, the idea that you have to be romantically or sexually attracted to someone to respect them as a human being is so utterly ridiculous and it's the main issue I have with the body positivity movement.
I don't care if fat bodies are sexy to you or not, I just want you to treat me with basic respect as a human being, and I imagine everybody else feels the same way.
Just because I know someone's gonna bring this up; No trans person owes it to you to tell you if they're trans or not. To be honest, if you find out you're not sexually attracted to them for any reason it's best to just keep it respectful and treat it like any other relationship problem. Targeting their gender identity as if it's a problem is the bad part but I'm not going to tell anyone to make themselves sexually attracted to something they just aren't interested in. I think these situations are complex and probably something best handled between the two people involved.
This is homophobia. The sex(es) to which people are attracted is not a simple "preference" as mundane as those for fatness or hair color or any other characteristic. Homosexual people don't just "prefer" their own sex, they experience attraction to those of the same sex exclusively and are not ever attracted to the other. Opposite for straight people. Sexuality is innate, and only being attracted to one sex is as perfectly natural as being bisexual is. Even bi people are not obligated to be attracted to trans people, but in that case, it is more of a preference. Physical sex is the basis of sexual orientation, and to say a lesbian not wanting to date a male is the same as someone who wouldn't date a fat person is homophobic. Sex doesn't change like weight or hair color can. Sexuality isn't fluid like those preferences can be. Stop being dumb.
"No one needs to know your preferences" sounds like "don't ask, don't tell," or "I'm ok with the gays as long as they aren't loud about it." You actually said "keep it to yourself" during Pride month. What a choice. Exclusive homosexuality isn't something that "needs fixing" either.
If more people in the trans community understood, as you say, that basic human respect doesn't require sexual or romantic attraction and didn't make posts like this shaming gay people for being gay, I'd respect them more.
"It's only okay to be gay if you shut up and pretend you aren't" is homophobic af. If you earnestly believe it's okay to force gays and lesbians back into the closet just because it upsets people to know exclusive homosexuality exists you are not an ally to homosexuals.
Sorry I wasn't talking to you I think
It's been literally an hour and people are already taking ts in bad faith and accusing you of crimes lmao
Thr fucking queer community BEGAN with the idea and notion that you CANNOT CONTROL what or who you are attracted to and it's okay, once this started being a situation whithin the community itself suddenly everyone CAN control what they're attracted to, they just don't want to because they're all oppressors and they're all transphobic or homophobic or whatever you will call.
Men with vaginas and vulvas are still men, gay men who are attracted to men with vaginas and vulvas are not suddenly not gay. But gay men who are not attracted to men with vaginas and vulvas are not more gay than the ones that do. Because those aren't women in any way whatsoever. They just like penises and that's okay.
If someone weren't attracted to me because of my vagina, it's literally not my business to handle. It's not an information I am entitled to. It's their preference and it's their private sexual life, even though it would suck that I'm not inherently attractive to them it's not like they can do anything about it. What ARE they meant to do? Take viagra and force an erection they simply don't have naturally?
Same idea with every other scenario. No one is entitled to know why you aren't attracted to them, it's your business and you are free to say and free to conceal. It's not something you can change about yourself, we all know that.
If you're not attracted to a woman because you're gay, you don't HAVE TO tell her you're not attracted to her because you're gay. You just say "I'm not attracted to you" and move the fuck on, it's not her business to know your sexuality. It's not something you HAVE TO say to anyone.
No one said "Keep it to yourself" and nobody said "Excusive homosexuality" needs fixing, on the contrary.
Y'all just have your defenses so high up and so on the edge all the time that everything you see on the internet criticizing you is a scary hater that wants you quiet, wants you submissive or wants you dead.
She said "You are allowed to not be attracted to others, just don't blame others for what you aren't attracted to" and y'all came very fiercely with those responses. Calm down, you're on public making crime accusations over someone who just defended your preferences.
Signs you are too immature to be on the internet:
1: You view liking Jax as a moral failing
2: You view liking Gangle as a moral success 3: You think that Jax deserved to be abstracted, which is very close to killing oneself 4: You're the asshole that kept screaming at the top of your lungs in the middle of the movie because you assumed everyone agreed with your views on the movie. Fuck you. 5: You see Caine being "more deserving" of forgiveness, or any character at all 6: You decide to turn a blind eye to the obvious trans allegory of the finale

I'm so pissed off that the movement which villainizes and infantilizes trans men and erases nonbinary and intersex people is being called "transfeminism"
Because I think we do need a feminist movement that focuses on trans people!
All trans people!
And creating a system like TMA and TME is such a bullshit and unhelpful way to do that
Like "yes we will put everyone into two boxes, "good oppressed real trans woman" and "evil malfunctioning women who we all hate and deserve to be murdered with guns". This system is very progressive and feminist and accounts for all trans people. If you have any issues with it then you are an evil transphobic misogynist who clearly hates all trans women."
Wow great. This is what we are calling transfeminism?
YOU DON'T NEED TO BE A SKINNY WHITE TWINK TO BE ATTRACTIVE AS A TRANS GUY. BE FAT. BE CHUBBY. HAVE SCARS AND STRETCH MARKS AND SPOTS AND CYSTS AND DRY SKIN AND DANDRUFF AND ECZEMA. HAVE MOHAWKS AND LOCS AND AFROS AND CURLS AND PIN-STRAIGHT HAIR. BE A POC. GET DARKER IN THE SUMMER. WEAR FEMININE CLOTHES, WEAR MASCULINE CLOTHES, WEAR A MIX OF EVERYTHING. GET SURGERIES, DON'T GET SURGERIES, GET HORMONES, DON'T GET HORMONES, MEDICALLY TRANSITION OR CHOOSE NOT TO OR CHOOSE TO ONLY DO CERTAIN PARTS OF IT BUT NOT OTHERS. USE WHATEVER PRONOUNS YOU WANT. HE, SHE, THEY, XEY, ZIR, OTHER NEOPRONOUNS, WHO CARES! BE WHOEVER THE FUCK YOU WANT TO BE, HOWEVER THE FUCK YOU WANT TO DO SO, BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT TRANSITIONING IS SUPPOSED TO BE. DO NOT LET YOURSELF BE CONTAINED IN ANOTHER MOULD RIGHT AFTER YOU JUST BROKE OUT OF THE LAST ONE.
#And please STOP trying to contain your trans siblings
#we should never be enforcing imaginary rules on each other
#part of community is helping each other stand tall
#SO STAND TALL
there's this specific grief that comes with being trans and hearing another trans person has died. because no matter how far away they were, it never feels distant, it feels communal. cellular. like someone reached into the wiring of your own body and cut a thread. trans people learn early on in their journey - often even before they begin transitioning - that survival is treated like a political statement. joy is political. transition is political. getting to exist long enough to become boring is political.
and now mourning is political, too.
i'm so sorry, murry foust. i keep thinking about how tired you must have been. how tired all of us are. how humiliating it is that even when we die alone, people still laugh and debate whether we deserved to live a happy, dignified life at all.
there are trans kids online right now learning your name – and the names of juniper blessing, lucas redbeard knapp, aleanna belcher, and davonta curtis – through grief. through fear. through that horrible, familiar ache of "that could've been me." and i hate that this is part of our inheritance from one another. not just chosen family and resilience and beauty – but memorials. vigils. apology letters to ghosts.
you deserved better. you deserved to grow old and live a happy, fulfilled life. all of us do. i promise we will keep fighting for our community to have a better future and we'll carry our lost siblings the whole way through.
Honestly, at least there's somewhere out there where she's alright
Even though it didn't have to be like that.
everyone loves to hate terfs until they realise that it actually entails rejecting bioessentialism entirely and then suddenly you’re “taking things too seriously” and you “don’t have a sense of humour” like i’m sorry but saying protect the dolls doesn’t make you immune to terfism it has seeped into every corner of mainstream feminism and unless you’re actively searching it out and checking your own biases you will always be at risk of sharing a space with terfs
“Only women can—” nope. “But all men—” nah. “The divine femininity of—” gonna stop you right there. “Everyone born ama—” if you finish that sentence I’ll kill you. “Men don’t experience—” you’re wrong. “Gender isn’t real but sex is imm—” *loud incorrect buzzer*
It also goes without saying that bioessentialism inherently can’t be trans inclusive no matter how hard you try. “All men including trans men—” probably not. “This is only a woman’s issue—” is it really? “Afabs only—” why? “All trans men are like—” what? what are they like? finish the sentence i dare you.

From one writer to another I'm telling you that every effort towards writing your story is a step forward. Daydreaming, making playlists, sketching your characters, worldbuilding right down to the for centuries before your story starts, binge watching content related to or in the same genre as your story, everything counts and you should never feel guilty about taking the time to play around with the world that you created.
