I understand that desisted people do not go through hormones and face permanent damage through medical intervention, but people act as if the phase is experimental and just a quirky time of your life if you are. But that phase had once consumed me.
You are skating on thin ice with these communities. Being told that if you don't get medical intervention, you will die. Delving into self-harm. Hypersexualizing. Burying your same sex attraction like it's something to be ashamed of. The possibility of causing damage to your body through binding. Losing friends. Mentally degrading yourself ever time you look into a mirror because of your biological reality.
It consumes every bit of your life. So no, it's not a silly pronouns changing phase. It is traumatizing.
It doesn't really matter if we describe the community as Queer because conservatives will always find us strange and try to kill us.
Also, are you gonna start getting mad about black people reclaiming the n word next?
There's this thing called not contributing. It's like how I don't call women b*c even though if I personally stopped it wouldn't stop misogyny. It's because I don't want to be part of the problem, and let others around me think that it's okay behavior.
I'm not in the black community and have no right to speak for them. But it is a fact that some people in the black community(including people I know) are against black people using the N word as much and in the ways that they do. If they are right or not is an issue for black people to talk about amongst themselves, but I as a white person sure as hell aren't going to start calling them the n-word community even if a random black person said it was okay.
It's also worth noting that while the religious fundamentalist branch of american conservatism that gained large amounts of influence in the 80s is typically anti-gay, historically there has actually been a lot of gay conservatism in the US which argued for equal rights based on a small government, pro privacy viewpoint, which are both conservative political stances in the US.
If you want to learn more about the history of gay conservatism in the US I would recommend reading "Coming out Republican: A History of the Gay Right" by Neil J. Young
To say that "conservatives will always find us strange and try to kill us." is factually incorrect. Homophobes find us strange and want to kill us. Many homophobes are Republican and many homophobes are Democrats.
You can argue for gay rights using conservative political stances (like small government and pro privacy) and you can argue against gay rights using progressive political stances (inclusivity against homosexuality I.E. "your club, organization, sexual orientation is bigoted because it doesn't include the opposite sex")
There is no political party or movement immune to homophobia and when you act like there is and it's yours, you open the door to homophobia festering and growing inside your community; so much so that you might reach a point where you and your community are calling homosexuals slurs and telling them to shut up when they tell you to knock it off because you perceive yourself as infallible

I mean, faggot doesn't mean all homosexuals. Freak isnt a word solely used against the queer community. Like, you being mad that people are reclaiming a slur isn't relevant. Stop being mad about trans people
Weird, I didn't mention trans people but you jumped to your own defense anyway.
Faggot absolutely can mean pretty much all lgbt people, I don't think there's a part of the community who I haven't heard a member talk about being called a faggot at one point or another.
As for freak, that's not really lgbt centric, but queer is and is essentially a way of saying homosexual freak as Queer means weird and/or otherwise abnormal and also homosexual/gay.
I've been called queer enough and so have others, we know what it means and who it targets.
I am actually laughing about anon saying "Stop being mad about trans people" in reference to the opinion that calling it the "queer" community is offensive.
The first person I ever met that had and voiced this opinion was a transgender person all the way back in 2014. She would tag every post that used the word with "qslur" and block people for defending it's use.
Anon says not to be mad at people "reclaiming slurs" but reclamation can only be done by individuals, it's not reclamation to force it onto other people.
I once read someone (don't remember who, sorry) point out that there's a reason we don't call women's studies "bitch studies" or African and black studies "n-word history". Yet that is essentially what has happened to same sex attracted and gender non-conforming people. Our entire lives have been branded with a slur and if we object to being called it we're somehow the problem.
There's nothing transphobic about not wanting to be called a slur and not being okay with calling other people slurs. Even if I disagree with trans ideology, trans identified people shouldn't be branded with a slur either.

If male/female socialization doesn't exist, you are arguing one of two things
Men and women don't behave in different ways (observably untrue, if this was the case sexism would not exist)
Men and women behave in different ways due to biology (age-old sexist talking point, doesn't explain how behavior is heavily impacted by time period and culture)
If all trans women are female socialized, I can't understand how this would be the case unless you believe in a special female soul that is so present in a person AMAB that it deflects any and all absorbing of lessons and treatment from being perceived as male by others for an entire childhood. (Even if the individual thought they were male their entire childhood, had no female friends, and displayed clearly male-patterned socialization their whole life until transition)
If trans women become female socialized as soon as they transition, this implies childhood is not a critical development period that sticks with you for your whole life, which is untrue. This also implies most trans women are perceived as women and live the same as cis women as soon as they transition which is untrue.
if theres one thing that really pissed me off from my 3 years of architecture i took in high school it's learning about how we used to have all these little techniques to maximize or minimize heat or warmth and now we just merrily abandoned all those to have the same copypaste style buildings everywhere that are often INCREDIBLY unoptimized to the local weather and climate so we can just throw more money at our heating and cooling bills
where i live it is hot as balls approximately 80% of the year. i do not want a massive butt-ugly grey mcmansion with a huge echoey open-concept kitchen-livingroom-foyer-diningroom-staircase that has huge windows so i can have an hvac unit the size of a barge heaving and straining to keep it at a constant 72 the grees. i want a north indian traditional style home with small windows to force the airflow to cool, decorative grates to limit the amount of sunlight, and a COURTYARD with a POND *smashes unspecified large object*
I hate learning about instances of "oh yeah we know how to do that, we just don't".

on a video of a gay man saying the lgb should be separate from the t. so gay people are expected to show solidarity to trans people despite them denying the very existence of homosexuality, but the “solidarity” they give in return is highly conditional, based on if you support them, and if you don’t they’ll immediately resort to homophobia. great solidarity. seems like a fair deal…
“trans people show solidarity to gays!!!”
“you have a fucking faggcent you want to be a woman look at you bouncing your boobs”

Trying to debate a TRA will have you getting called
"Conservative" for wanting to progress beyond gender
"Reactionary" for evaluating ideas based on their merit instead of on who may or may not hypothetically agree with them
and
"Bootlicker" for refusing to lick boots
It's projection and cognitive dissonance in action .
when i was a kid i wanted to be a famous youtuber like dan and phil so that people would gay ship me with my irl best friend and we would be sooo weirded out by it and laugh and make videos joking about it but secretly it would make her realize her repressed gay crush on me and i'd help her through her gay crisis and then we would have a sickeningly sweet sappy romance and read fanfiction about ourselves together... anyways just found out she's married to a guy in the mafia now so i probably don't have a chance
