anyway what I really like about Macaque is how his character centers around lack of agency and loss of bodily autonomy. he hinged his sense of self around another person and did not tell that person about what was bothering him and probably internalized that speaking up about it wont change anything
and then when he is revived, his bodily autonomy is literally ripped from him and he believes that staying with the one taking away his freedom is a better/safer choice than choosing to reach out. he's convinced himself that closing himself off is what will save him
i am a normal person who relates to this character for normal reasons

incredibly elaborate bit me and @iclimbtreestofeelalive came up with while i was playing pokemon Y iii couldn't pick if i should put this on the art blog but whateverr hello if you scrolled down this far sorry for the long post okay i love you
one of my strongest anime opinions is that light should have had to kill L with his own two hands. make him confront the reality of what heβs been doing all along. make Lβs death more narratively satisfying and less convoluted. iβve heard there was debate between the author and publisher on if light should get to βwinβ and i think not being able to kill L with the death note (the thing that makes him a god) and having to get his hands dirty in this very human and intimate way would have been a really interesting compromise
in this adaptation, light intends to kill L himself, but L doesn't let go of the gun, resisting the death note. light allows L to hold the gun to his head, as he knows L can't actually shoot him. light then moves the gun to L's own head and L fires it.

it's probably the closest you can get to light "directly" killing L.

In Canalbrine, the night before they were to leave the continent, they chose to get rooms at the inn to be well-rested for the morrow's journey. They had done this in Oresrush and Sai as well, and Hikari expected this would be no change; however, Partitio pulled Hikari aside as Agnea and Castti went to get their own room.
"Before we talk to the innkeep, there's something I've been meaning to check with ya."
"What's the matter?"
"I've been seeing how ya look at me."
Ah. Hikari's eyes widened, though he quickly quelled any other emotion that might stir on his face. "My apologies, if I've caused offense--"
"No, that's not what I'm driving at!" Partitio waved off Hikari's half-formed apology energetically before leaning in. "What I wanted to say--well, ask--is if you wanted to do something about it."
For a moment, all Hikari could think about was that yes, there were things he wanted to do about it, but they were all unspeakably forward to propose to a companion of some scant three weeks. What was Partitio actually suggesting?
Then the furtive look of Partitio's silver eyes pierced the fog of confusion, and Hikari realized Partitio was proposing things along those lines. The flush in his cheeks burned through his attempt at composure, his mouth falling slightly open. Now Partitio leaned back, throwing his hands up as though there were an enemy to surrender to.
"'Less I've been reading all wrong! Didn't mean to make ya uncomfortable, we can get separate rooms this time--"
Ah. Bold, yet considerate: he'd drawn Hikari aside now so there wouldn't be any fuss about changing rooms later if the offer went awry. Strange how as soon as it was Partitio, that blunt forwardness became admirable. "I'm not uncomfortable," Hikari clarified. "Merely surprised. Not unpleasantly. I..." His face heated again, as if he'd caught fever. "Offers such as this were not common for me in Ku." Common for others, at least enough for Hikari to become aware of the exchanges in the military, but for a disfavored prince? The few he had received he had to turn down, men whose character he didn't know well enough to judge their intention. Or in one case, knew all too well. If Ritsu had asked... but Ritsu had not, and Hikari had not wanted to change their relationship from the comfort it was.
It had changed anyway.
"I'm not experienced," Hikari said, and his stomach churned as Partitio's eyebrows, already hitched in surprise, rose further up. This had been one confession too far, then; the chance was ruined. But he owed his traveling companions the truth, whenever he could give it.
Partitio started smiling again. "So I get the honor of your first rodeo, then? I'll show you how to have a good time. If you're up for it?" Hikari nodded, and his grin grew wider. "Well alright then! Honestly, I heard about the sandstorms 'round Ku, but they must be even fiercer than I heard if everyone's gone blind from them."
Hikari began to say that they were fierce, but not so much that the population was blind--and then the compliment hit him and he smiled, his face less feverishly hot but still warmed throughout as he laughed, and Partitio's eyes crinkled as he chuckled with before clapping a hand on Hikari's back.
"Alright, Ritsu," he said, bringing Hikari a little closer to reality again. "Let's go get our room."
He owed his companions the truth whenever possible because he'd lied to them from the outset.
He could trust Partitio's offer did not have any snaring strings attached because of Partitio's character... but it helped, that Partitio did not know he was the prince from Ku, accused of arson and patricide. To the others he was just a traveler, searching for a friend (which was true). He would help them reach their destinations in the other continent, and there they would likely part ways, unhindered, untouched, by the violence that overshadowed him and Ku. If he was able to take back Ku, he would try to get in touch with them again, to thank them for the kindness and warmth they'd shown a stranger when he needed it. They had no idea how much it meant.
And he doubted this night would mean much to Partitio, though it already felt quite significant to him. The older man was always so confident, bold--his words had all but confirmed he'd had other lovers before, and this was just a dalliance to him. A distraction. That sounded quite pleasant to Hikari, though. He could use a distraction from nightmares.

Being on the old Kid Icarus fandom (2010's to early 2020's) was wild because people swore that "Pit and Dark Pit are not siblings, you are pushing your headcanons!!!" to defend their sHipSπ€ͺ and all that when the game literally does have canon scenes like this:
And even on the Prima official guide, which is an official material supervised by Nintendo. Btw, at first I thought it was only a matter of like one time or two, but actually Dark Pit does gets repeatedly referred as Pit's twin and brother :D
Personal interpretations aside, you really can't blame people for seeing them as such when the game is stating it. And if the game is stating them as siblings, that's not a headcanon. That's the least of what a headcanon is... The game's script treats them as such and it's worth mentioning that Sakurai gave freedom to the localization team, and he even added Pit's english line "I never learned how the read" on Smash Bros Ultimate when said line only exists on the English localization. So, the english canon is equally important as the Japanese ver. And there's also the classic sibling rivalry between brothers trope.
