TIL: ok, so in the virtual pet collectors community there's a pretty well-known bit of software of unknown origin that is used by most cheap knock-off toys that pass themselves off as Tamagotchi on sites like AliExpress, popularly known as 'bunnyrom'. Someone has a neocities that documents the software, including the 168 different forms that the not-a-tamaogotchi can take.

Predictably a bunch of the pet options are licensed characters because what is the point of a knock-off like this without some IP infringement? And. Well. If you want a Transformers-themed not-tamagotchi, I guess your best bet is to buy a very cheap fake one online, because if you do you can have your wish:

(I wonder if that Ratchet was copied off a piece of G1 art that was mislabelled; I'm sure that's one of G1's many carbots and not him.)
