So, I wrote this fanfic when I was 16, during lockdown. It honestly kept me going for a while, until school, my mental health, and life in general got in the way. Because of that, I wonβt be continuing the story. But Iβm very grateful for everyone who read it, supported it, and is still curious about it even after five years.
As for the rest of the storyβ¦ Iβm going to be honest, I donβt fully remember exactly where I wanted it to go. But I do remember some key things:
Right after the last chapter? I have absolutely no idea. In my old notes I have written that tehy would trick Aurora, but here isnt muhc detail about it. But I think they were going to do something that wiuld end up making Klaus feeling genuinely protective of Nikole.
One thing I was always sure about is that Nikole and Klaus were going to end up together at some point. I wanted them to come to terms with everything and then realize their love never really went away, and was hidden behind all that survival betrayal and guilt.
I dont remember if I published it in any of the chapters, but I was going to go fully into Nikole and Damons relationship, which is something that deeply bothered Klaus. Damon and her were partners some time last century, and they werent truly romantic, but more like friends with benefits. Damon was still hurting because of Katherine and Nik was still hurt because of Klaus. So they bonded over all that, and ended up spending a few decades together.
I also planned but never really wrote a crossover with Teen Wolf, because I was obsessed with both tv shows at the time. And I mentioned in a chapter that Nik got involved with a werewolf, and I fully intended that to be someone from Teen Wolf Universe. But I didnt thought all the logistics, just that the idea seemed coll in my head back then.
Hayley wasnt going to die in this fanfiction. I wanted to keep her alive. And she was going to marry Elijah.
Also, I wanted to make Hayley and Nik besties somehow. And I wanted Nik to be a huge part in Hopes life. I think I wanted Hayley and Nik to raise Hope while the mikaelsons were put to sleep at the end of season 3.
I think at some point Nik and Marcel were going to have a huge fight and split. Nik would take the mikaelsons side, and Marcel wouldnt like that at all, so they would get into a big argument, and eventually they would be enemies for a while.
And the end of the story? It is unkown. I think maybe i would have kept the same ending for Klaus and Elijah, but perhaps it wouldve been Nik and Klaus and not Elijah. But I am not sure, I dont really remember that well.
So, I hope that could satisfy your curiosity and give you some sort of closure.
