She's genuinely one of the most interesting and original female characters I've ever seen. It's like they take all the tropes and flip them on the head for her to create this gorgeous and complex person.

She's a creature of the wild in a savage, "kill or be killed" way. She loves the dark corners and will not hesistate to attack threats. It's such a subversion of the woodland maiden who makes friends with baby bunnies and sits in sunny fields braiding her hair with flowers.

Her humour is so deadpan but not in a "trying to be nonchalant and snarky" way and I love it sooo muchhhh. She's genuinely laughing at the wrong moments and making jokes inappropriately because she doesn't get social interactions. She was a coyote for 8yrs for god fricking sake!!!!

She's a complete badass in a fight and then also full on freaks out over schoolwork (that she shouldn't even have to be doing. She was a frigging coyote!!!)

Also the best part is how they never try to write her off as a "not like other girls" pick me even though she's the least traditionally feminine out of all her girl friends and has most of the stereotypical pick me tropes.

She adores Lydia- they're best friends in s6. She's so supportive of Lydia's banshee stuff and Kira's electricity control even though she clearly sucks at giving encouragement and is so freaked out by both of their supernatural abilities. And the way she sexy dances with Kira till she feels comfortable is so sweet. The scene where she transforms back into human from coyote and just stands there casually buck naked until Lydia runs over with some clothes is so precious!! Also the car scenes where Lydia and Kira are trying to teach her how to drive! UwU!!! And she's so in sync with Braeden I love it- 2 butt kicking BAMFs who have trouble caring about people. Which brings me to her ARC! Don't even get me started!

The way she goes from being totally fine with leaving Lydia for dead to being ready to put herself at risk to save strangers and ESPECIALLY her friends.

Aang isn’t a “nice guy” trope that expects Katara to be with him because he did stuff for her. They’re literally best friends and know each other very well who developed mutual feelings for each other over the course of 61 episodes.
