And I wanna stress that when i say “top of the leg” i’m not talking about the crotch (please don’t flag me tumblr it’s an anatomical term) i’m talking about the point where the femur connects to the pelvis, which is higher up on the hips:

So yeah if you use that measurement when using this technique you should get fairly realistically proportioned legs:

But remember! messing with proportions is an important and fun part of character design! Know the rules first so you can then break them however you please!

Eddie is always, always, ALWAYS covered up in the movie. Covered head-to-toe for 99% of it. Like, you see his forearms in the mid-credits, and it’s almost scandalous. No shower scene, no shirtless scene, no work-out or undressing scene - none of those skin-showing staples of other comic book movies.

(Sidebar: The fact that most of his outfits in the film either hide or trim down Tom Hardy’s figure means that there’s something of a minor misconception in fandom that Movie!Eddie is slim or scrawny. And while he’s certainly not the forest guardian-sized specimen of a man that Comics!Eddie is, he is nonetheless respectfully brickhouse under those baggy hoodies.)

And I dunno, it’s just interesting to me because the lack of gratuitous muscle on display does absolutely nothing to dampen audience thirst and in some weird way might even enhance it. Like, most CBM men get lusted over for their physique, personalities, and vulnerabilities. Eddie in his hoodies, jackets, and PJs has less to distract viewers from his personality and vulnerabilities, both emotional and physical, and it’s… really hot. His awkward mannerisms, his gestures, his speech patterns, his heart-on-his-sleeve tendencies, his puppy eyes, his MOUTH, the fact that he’s constantly finding reasons to end up soaking wet, the fact that he spends most of the movie getting physically dragged around by other characters, the bracelets he wears everywhere to the point of sleeping in them.
