found old fanart of the queen (i luv her a lot)
Back on my motherfucking bullshit (redraw of this art from 2022)
Seems like this might actually be relevant to an upcoming set! Actually, since starting this redraw, I have seen some leaked art, so I made sure to go in a different direction for, say, Liliana. I think I’ll make individual posts or reblogs to explain my thought process on each (and also split up the characters because this canvas is far too long).

I have spent so much of my life hating that I'm mixed and wishing that I was either fully White or fully Chinese, and just now that I'm starting to accept and even love that I am mixed, the internet has decided that I need to be deeply ashamed of who I am.
I grew up with one other mixed girl and I would have been ecstatic to have the opportunity to go to an event where I could meet other people like me and maybe finally feel like there's a place where I belong
Also y'know what it is very few steps from "you shouldn't be proud of being white as a mixed person. Because that's white pride which = bad" to "yeah you should stay ashamed of being white" because in a multiracial context in current times it is an established thing that many mixed people wish/have wished they weren't white so they could feel fully accepted in their non-white ethnic community. Like yes white pride bad and historically some mixed people have turned very self-hating and racist because they embraced only their white heritage, but we're talking in self-identifying mixed spaces; nobody is ONLY embracing their white heritage and turning into what frankly seems to be to be a negative stereotype/caricature of mixed people even if it was accurate to some real life. And yes being "proud" is a particular thing that I really can't endorse towards being white but in context it was clearly broadly meant like "identifying as white the way you do with you other race(s) is not ok" liiiikke what...
the stupidiest part of the "wasian" discourse is that INVARIABLY someone suggests "hapa" which y'know has it's own problems, but besides the Hawai'ian origin/potential cultural appropriation, those same exact people will say "I don't want to divide myself into parts/I don't want to call myself 'halfie' because i'm a full person/I don't like saying I'm 'half x half y'; I'm 100% everything."
hapa is just a rerun of every single one of those problems: it literally is just "half" in another language. You seriously respect other languages so little that you prioritize the connotations a foreign word has in English over its definition & deny it its actual translation?
millenials all live in an alternative world where "wasian" is like basically a slur and has the meaning of weeb, meanwhile gen z all live in an alternate world where none of us have ever witnessed that ever like seriously that has never been a thing so why are these mixed millenials policing how we self-identify and saying 'wasian' is "white-centering" and that the definition we created the word with is voided by this previous one from their world, all in all alienating us from their established mixed community.
also, we aren't stealing from Blasians; it's a fucking portmanteau. Nobody owns the concept of portmanteaus.
(it being a portmanteau is also why it's completely nonsensical to say it ''centers whiteness''. is the spoon component more important to a spork than the fork. do infomericals "center information".)
THIS. I probably feel more strongly about this because I'm a 75% white/25% Asian wasian, and not the stereotypical 50/50 mix, but it shouldn't be considered inherently racist to identify with the white portion of my racial identity. The reality is that I'm part white, I'm not going to just ignore that. Identifying as part-white (and in my specific case, mostly white) doesn't mean I'm going to not identify as part-Asian, too, because my Korean ethnicity has significantly impacted how I was raised and who my family is in ways that no 100%, non-mixed Asian white person is going to be familiar with.
It also doesn't mean that I think I'm superior to other people who aren't white or part-white. It's just who I am.
I'm part-white, and part-Asian. Ignoring either one of those parts would be dishonest.
