It becomes a pattern in the aftermath.Â
Bruce has set up a makeshift lab in Wakanda, while the world takes stock of their dead and Wakanda mourns for their king. Bruce isnât doing anything important, but he needs to do something, so he studies Wakandaâs vibranium supply and attempts to keep Shuri busy.Â
Otherwise, the grief might just be too much for the both of them to bear.Â
Bruce also tries very hard not to think about Tony and what form of matter Tony may or may not be at this very moment. Heâs only moderately successful.Â
Itâs on the third day of the second week after half of the world has turned to ash that Thor brings Bruce a little green snake. Bruce is baffled, but he tried to be polite about it. Bruce is heartsick, though, so that makes everything a little harder.Â
Then Thor asks for Bruce to see if the snake is Loki, and it takes every bit of willpower Bruce Banner poses to not burst into tears. Thor is so strong and so keen to smile, he makes it so easy for everyone to forget that he has lost nearly everything.Â
Bruce pokes at the snake without any further complaints. When nothing happens, the grief on Thorâs face is unimaginable.Â
Bruce begins spending time with both Thor and Shuri, in a desperate attempt to combat his own grief by combatting theirs.Â
All the while, every second or third day, Thor brings Bruce a small green animal and asks Bruce to see if it his lost brother. Bruce checks every time, with care and precision, but the result is always negative. Itâs awful for both of them, but Thor canât seem to stop and Bruce doesnât know how to make him.Â
This pattern holds for a few weeks, until Thor brings Bruce a beaten and battered lizard. Itâd been burned somehow and it looked like one of its limbs had been badly broken. When Thor presents it to him, Bruce honestly isnât sure if Thor had just brought the little thing to Bruce to see if it could be saved.Â
âCould you check?â Thor asks, the question quiet and hurt after so many weeks of negative results from Bruceâs prodding and poking.Â
âOf course,â Bruce says softly, adding his portion of the call and response.Â
He gingerly picks up the lizard, as the poor also looks like heâd been through the wringer, and gives him a quick once over. Bruceâd been right about the broken leg and the burns were pretty â
The lizard fucking turns into Loki. A damaged, burnt Loki who scuttles backward on a broken leg while spitting blood.Â
Thor bursts into tears. Bruce bursts out laughing. Everyone has their own way of processing grief and shock and grief turned into shock, apparently.Â
Itâs later, when theyâve gotten Loki a little patched up, convinced Okoye not to kill Loki (âHe tried to destroy the world!â she says â âHeâs gotten better,â Bruce says), and Thorâs eyes were mostly dry, that Loki finally says through clenched, bloodied teeth:Â
âTheyâre in a pocket dimension.â
âWho?â Bruce whispers, stunned.Â
âEveryone. I told him heâd never be a god. He was just a warlord playing at being something powerful. He shouldâve fucking listened.â

Thatâs Louis Rossman, a repair technician and YouTuber, who went viral recently for railing against Apple. Apple purposely charges a lot for repairs and you either have to pay up or buy a new device. Thatâs because Apple withholds necessary tools and information from outside repair shops. And to think, we were just so close to change.
Follow @the-future-now
This is really important and let me tell you why.
My mom has an iPhone 6 Plus and hasnât even had it for a year when one day it suddenly died and would not charge. So she took it to an authorized Apple repair place and they charged her $50 for a diagnostic only to tell her that she would have to buy a brand new phone.
So she decided to go to the AT&T store to talk to our usual guy that upgrades our phones and handles any problems for us. She tells him whatâs wrong and he takes her phone to the back only to come out two minutes later, puts her phone on charge and it comes back to life.Â
She asks him what was wrong with it that he managed to somehow fix when the people at the âauthorized apple repair placeâ couldnât. And you know what he told her?
âThere was just a bit of fuzz in the charging port.â
I FUCKING KNEW IT. Listen, I have a MacBook from college. The charger has died twice, and I had to get a new one. This happened for two years in a row around the same time each year. Iâm fucking convinced that their hardware is rigged to âexpireâ in order to force people to keep buying their shit.
Wait, people are just now learning that Apple has some of the shadiest business practices?
You know this isnât really just apple, companyâs do this all the time, everything is rigged to expire and all they want is your money.
Ohhh no no no, this IS JUST Apple.Â
All companies want you to buy their new products. None have gone to the lengths that Apple Inc. has gone to make end user repairs as impossible as is legally viable. I have been repairing electronics and computer systems privately, commercially and active duty in the US military for about 30 years.Â
Apple puts extra effort into special hardware requiring proprietary tools that are only legally produced by their licensed manufacturer and can only be purchased through licensed repair shops if at all.Â
Companies like iFixit can only exist as profit making companies because they are able to make workaround tools and kits that are still profitable but less of a blatant ripoff than Apple.Â
Apple has been doing this forever. The way Apple treats consumers is abysmal, and people still eat their products up.
This is called âplanned obsolescenceâ - many companies do it, but Apple has made it into an art. Basically, companies - tech companies in particular - have realized that if their products are manufactured too well, they wonât be able to sell you a new one in three years. So, in order to keep consumers coming back for more, they design your gadgets to âexpireâ in all manner of ways; Apple is infamous for pushing software updates that render older model phones and computers useless right before releasing a new product so that consumers will be forced to purchase the newest version of a gadget they already have.
The best way to fight back against this kind of wasteful, predatory, capitalistic schlock is to learn more about how your gadgets work so that you can repair them instead of replacing them. This man is doing the Lordâs work.
I get asked a lot in stream about maintaining my 10 year old mac as my main comp and why I wonât be getting a new one when I canât maintain it anymore. This bullshit is why. I want this here so I can point to it as I divolve into unintelligible on screen ramblings about my adventures in apple upkeep. Get fucked so hard, Apple.

PSA
Itâs trans, not trans*
Itâs trans men and trans women, not transmen and transwomenâtrans is an adjective that answers âwhat kind of men/women"âcis works the same way
Never call trans men FTMs or trans women MTFs without their permission
Trans is short for transgender, itâs not plural for anythingâtrans person and trans people are both correct
Never use âborn in the wrong bodyâ or âused to be a boy and became a girlâ or âbiologically/genetically male/femaleââall are just fancy ways to misgender someone (self identification with these phrases is different)
Transgendered is wrong, so is âa transgenderâ and âtransgendersâ
Being trans is not a sexuality nor is it a âsexual disorderâ or any kind of disorder at allâgender identity disorder is not a real thing, and being trans isnât a medical condition
âTranssexualâ is generally considered an offensive term and should never be used to describe someone without their permission
Donât refer to a trans personâs gender as their gender identity, itâs just their gender
Similarly donât refer to their pronouns as âpreferred pronouns"âtheyâre not preferred, theyâre mandatory
