Remus, who has never craved a lick of attention in his entire life and would rather die than hold eye contact for more than 2 seconds, being friends with the most attention seeking people ever created. (Until he falls for Sirius and then he silently tortures himself with the need for Sirius’ attention with out trying to seem needy)

Sirius looks for attention any way he can, even if it means hurting himself and the people around him because his family refuses to give him affection and the attention he needs to be a well rounded individual.

James is an only child with an enormous ego that needs to be inflated and maintained for him to feel comfortable.

And Peter, who struggles with self esteem and cracks jokes as a way to get closer to people, even if it means destroying his own image with the amount of self deprecation he exudes.

(I think Remus would also be very self deprecating but never to gain attention. He just uses humor to deflect attention instead of seek it.)

On the days Sirius can't regulate, too loud in his own head, too much memory, too much, Remus will sit at one end of the sofa and just be there. He doesn't touch unless invited, doesn't talk unless spoken to, a lighthouse in the static. Sirius almost always moves toward him eventually.

like why is the park locked after 5pm so I can't go and sit under a tree after work? to punish rough sleepers for the terrible crime of being homeless and alive

why do I have to buy a drink, beg for a code and fuck around with an awkward keypad for 5 minutes in order to take a piss? because fuck homeless people

why do I need to provide proof of address and photo ID to do everything? because we had to create a really hostile environment for migrants

why can't you sit anywhere? well because god forbid people sleep when they're pushed out of shelter. can't risk that.

every day governments, councils and businesses make your life worse as a side effect of making vulnerable people's lives WAY worse. if you're ok with that you're a fucking idiot and if you're in favour of it you're a vindictive cunt cause again literally the ONLY payoff for your life getting worse is other people's lives getting worser.
