this echoes what white women do today. 

This was maybe my favorite thing about Hidden Figures. It did not let white women off the hook for one second.  Kirsten Dunst’s character was passive at best and openly racist at worst. There was another white woman who, while never openly racist, was deeply passive until the last moment.  The movie was, in many ways, an indictment of white feminism and I hope the white women who have seen it were paying attention.

If you continuously go out of your way to make someone happy and they don’t return the energy, leave them because they don’t consider you worthy of the same energy they are taking from you. Therefore the vibe is not equal. Don’t let your loyalty make a fool out of you.

they played “i’ll stop the world and melt with you” in stranger things and my mom was like “i love that song” and i was like “me too!” and she was like “how TF do you know that song?!” and i didn’t have the heart to tell her it was from the cinematic masterpiece of our time, Sky High (2005).

Yeah that’s why they all died at 30 because they were so unhealthy but cool

Pretty sure it was the plague not heart disease.

Cultural “Oh Snap” I hate it so much when people pull out the “unhealthy” excuse for having a reason to body shame a person.

“Women died young in the 1700s because they were fat” is an amazingly ignorant statement

you know what truly disgusts me… being able to feel my own heartbeat. it’s bad. don’t need to actively know what’s going on in there. don’t need to feel that. it’s not any of my business
