fox mulder gets exponentially quippier and bitchier the more danger he's in/the more pressure he's under and i think that's just such a delightful character choice. kindest weirdest man you've ever met is saying the funniest meanest shit you've ever heard as you're in mortal danger. and the worst part is he was right about the aliens chasing you and you didn't believe him.

Belatedly occurs to me that Mulder and Scully are definitely well known enough in their universe to have Wikipedia pages but knowing them, the photos are like twenty five years out of date and taken from newspaper articles which is likely the only thing that keeps them from being recognized by sight in the current day. And thank god for that.

it’s the way dana scully is a genuine and deeply uncool nerd and also a slight masochist with serious daddy issues and quiet conflicting desires. the way she’s a flowery philosophiser and an incredibly bright student of medicine as well as a perfect shot and a bottle of survivor’s rage. the way she’s a cluttered and warm, homey maximalist while being a misfit outsider and often completely alone. the way she’s petty and cold and blunt and then, when she’s drunk in love, embarrassingly flirtatious and girly. the way she is a reticent pillar of a woman but cries easily when it feels safe. the way she is entirely and easily independent and chooses to devote herself completely to someone who makes her feel dangerous and alive.
