“Actually I was going to ask if you wanted to grab a coffee with me.”

“Sure thing, pal. How’s it going?”

“Of course it is. But you realize there’s a difference between disgusting and terrifying right?”

“Depends on who you ask.”

“Yeah until he finds out and attempts to kill you,” she replied.

“’Attempts’ is the key word here, sunshine. Besides, I’m the oldest, so he can stuff it.”

“That’s what I’m here to talk to you about – the coffee machine’s busted. Can you head down to the Hephaestus cabin and grab someone to fix it? I don’t want to set foot into that grubby place.”

“Shit,” he groaned. “What makes yu think I have any good relations with anyne from that cabin? Last I heard, Cartwright was trying to shoot anyone who knocked on ther door...”

“I was just letting you know that there’s a piece of toilet paper stuck to your shoe,” Cassia pointed out, “But go ahead, continue to drink your coffee.

“There is only one correct answer to this question. Guess which one is it, yes or no?”

“I’m going to go with my gut and do whatever I want. You can always join.”

“It’s like 2pm. How have you not had coffee yet?”

“Only two,” he shrugged. “It’s going to be a long day today, need more caffeine in my system.”

“It’s eleven, you should’ve had your first cup of coffee hours ago,” Emilia replied with a slight roll of her eyes.

“It’s been a long night, Em. If you know what I mean,” he winked at her, but then quickly grimaced. “I take that back, I hope you don’t know.”

“You’re already fifteen minutes late for training, you’ll have to add that fifteen minutes into your lunch hour. Is your coffee now worth more of your eating time later?”

“Just because you’re a Poseidon kid it doesn’t mean water’s suddenly off limits to everybody else. Am I supposed to stop drinking water because he’s not my dad?”

“You can’t listen and drink at the same time?” April asked with a confused but amused smile.

“No. Briefs or boxers?”

“Why choose? Go commando.”

“Never said it was practical, just thought it’d be funny if someone actually did go forth and try. With a horrible accent to top it off.”

“Would there be anyone to winess it though? Camp trip to Starbucks maybe?”

“Pretending to be a British man infuriated by the lack of tea at starbucks gets you a month of free drinks.”

“Interesting tactic, although pretty useless when there’s no Starbucks around. Plus, English tea has milk in it - who does that?” He grimaced.

“And that’s supposed to scare me?”

“Well, it’s definitely disgusting.”

“Got you!” she called out excitedly after spraying the other on the neck with her water gun.
