“And that’s supposed to scare me?”

“Care to enlighten me on these possible options and ‘ways out’?” 

“Only after you say you’re in.”

“Wow, thanks for the advice,” he replied sarcastically.

“Always a pleasure, Chris.”

“You wouldn’t hold it for long anyway,” she replied. Emilia stuck her foot out, attempting to trip him up.

“I don’t think there’s enough hour in a day,” he laughed at her attempt.

“What? Is Nate scared of a little tiny shock?” she teased.

“Why would I let anyone electrocute me willingly?”

“You’re only charming when you’re asleep, Nate. Although I’m not sure if sucking your thumb is considered being charming these days…”

“I’m perfect the way I am, Gus. You cannot tell me otherwise,” he shrugged.

“Fine. I love it when you’re proven wrong.”

“Let’s make a bet.”

April laughed, “I would think you’d know that I was and always have been a goody goody. I didn’t cause trouble as a baby,” She paused, “I always washed my hands and he did most of it when I was that age. But I watched and I learned. I’m totally gonna kick your ass at cooking.”

“Good or not, I would stil not trust cleanliness of baby’s hands. One second you se where they are, the second they are already full of germs,” he shuddered. A slow smile appeared on his face. “Cook off.”

“Whatever it is, can’t it way until after I have my first cup of coffee?”

“No. Briefs or boxers?”

“Uh, Yeah, I tend to do that a lot.”

“Maybe invest in a timer. One of the loudly beeping ones.”

“But then where’s the fashion in that?” Cosette mused. “That way is just bland and boring,” She pointed out to Nate. “I’m sure I would have beat you if I was in the running,” The thing was, Cosette was sure she would win it either way so she didn’t consider her’s a lie either. “But, if I picked a different instructor, I wouldn’t be getting better, which I think I am. You know I live to be better than you in every way.” She teased.

“Its good enough for me,” he shrugged. You would have gotten a second place, I can give you that. But beat me? Not a chance,” Nate said with a smirk. “Then suck it up and let’s do this. I can only give you an hour and you already wasted three minutes.”

He furrowed his brows at the Nate, “Nathan, we’re not partners. Never have been.”

“Why, yes. Partners makes it sound like we’re equal. We’re not. Let’s go with a trainer and his inadequate trainee.”

April rolled her eyes at his flirtatiousness and then she scoffed, “Let me rephrase. I made my first successful bouillabaisse at nine. I’ve been helping my dad cook since I was in diapers and cooking on my own since I was seven. I am my father’s daughter and my mother’s daughter.”

“Or maybe you remember forcing your best friend to watch a chick flick which, by the way, you can quote from.”

“I cannot help having an excellent memory. I’m going to call Dawn later today and you’ll see.”

“Maybe I’m the one that needs flirting help” she smirked.

“Just say a word. I tutor Mondays and Thursdays.”

“Just wait until I kick your ass,” she joked with a slight smirk, poking his shoulder. 

“I’m not going to hold my breath,” he grinned, cheekily.

“I don’t know, just think about when I accidentally shock you when I hug you. Think about that times like probably a hundred, I wouldn’t know, I can’t get shocked or electrocuted, anyway, and also getting it from an axe, there’s my answer,” she smiled a little. The threat was obviously empty.

Nate looked thoughtful for a longer moment. “Well, now that you mentioned it... I’m just not going to let you come near me,” he shrugged.
