As a veteran player, I knew D2 would end, but never like this. One of my friend's even changed his Bungie.net name for fun & it's been getting crowds on the Tower. π
My love for this franchise has stemmed as far as cosplay & gmvs, crafting Mara Sov & Osiris respectfully. I'll be bringing Her Majesty to DragonCon this summer for a final farewell with others.

The final (final) update in regards to the Devil's Triad bug fixes:
DE support was kind enought to get back to me, although I'm not sure how to take this response? The support reset fixed all the bugs except it somehow glitched Loid from reuniting for me again...I was able to have that reunion prior to my support reset.
I'm confused now...does this mean we're just going to play roulette with resets until the game resolves itself? If I can't reunite the family, will it have story repercussions? All I hoped for was a simpler answer. If it meant they didn't know what was wrong with my game session despite their reset, why am I being asked to do another one? Does anyone even know what issue's causing all these bugs still?
I feel like the triad story is being left behind and I don't want there to be ramifications with Entrati because of something out of our control. π₯²π¨

Why is there art of NITOHK painted in Follie's Hunt?! π¨
Is the lady's voice some crazy artist/scientist that made Follie too? But also a minion to Nitohk's faction like Roathe was?
Found a Dax & Grendel too. Scoured the entire map and these were the most notable. No, there are no other Executors painted on the walls.....this raises so many questions π±

I can't believe I missed this...take it as you will: Drifter I guess did have hands on Roathe's waist after all? π (the hand behind him is glitched regardless, but one can dream...sorry for quality, I took the photo from my tv.)
Anyway, who else realized that the conscripts can appear in captura if Roathe's gemini is used as a display in the backroom? What a startle π
Is there any way to turn them off in captura when actually using Uriel/Roathe, though? They don't go away if you uncheck companions.
Roathe is, in every way possible, worse than Albrecht.
Roathe complains of Albrecht killing animals for an inarguably good reason, but you gotta ask, how many sentients did Roathe kill, for his own gain? How many Dax and Grineer did Roathe send to their deaths? Remember, they physically cannot say no to an Orokin.
Roathe is, partially, responsible for Adis' death. He kept the war alive, and at the very least enabled Ballas to do what he did. Albrecht is purposefully keeping the protoframes alive. If he wanted to just use them for infested blood samples, he wouldn't have modified them into the strain to keep it slower. Roathe did not seem to care, other than his own cowardice.
Roathe complains about Albrecht not liking his *arranged wife*! Says that he never cares for people he loves. This is the same man who plotted to *kill* the woman he actually loved! Without remorse! Roathe ignores Loid's deal with Albrecht, because Albrecht cannot possibly care about the *manservant.*
People like to make Albrecht more evil than he actually is
Big one here. A huge issue I've noticed is this trend of "Albrecht would shoot a puppy point blank and feel no remorse" type of understandings of Albrecht's character. Somehow, the guy who feels immense amounts of disgust and hatred for himself, for abandoning his family and for what happened to the cavia is an evil bastard who clearly must enjoy what he does.
Shit you not, had a person try to argue that Albrecht must've abused Euleria because "look at how she turned out". Like, not even using the times where Albrecht goes "Mm yeah I did a bad job at parenting her" which genuinely might come from his own self-esteem issues, because he made sure she was taken care of, Loid becoming a sort of step-father to her because of it. This person also went off to say that he is emotionally abusing Loid, and when asked for examples of when this happened, they didn't respond. Another person seems to be adamant that Albrecht shouldn't have involved people in his fight for wally. And, when asked what he'd rather Albrecht do, he said "Make a coalition." And for him to stop using "Systemic violence".
Genuinely what do you mean Albrecht shouldn't involve people but should also form a "coalition"?? Also, what do you mean by systemic violence??? Do we know what that word means?? Genuinely baffled about that one.
Loid is just as bad as Albrecht and is an active enabler
Self explanatory. Loid enables Albrecht's behaviours, even the bad ones.
See: the cavia.
The Cavia should've been euthanised.
I fully believe that Albrecht should have euthanised the Cavia, right after the void incident. This shouldn't be wild of me to say, but swiftly dying, and suffering animals should be put down. It is both ethical and aligns with laboratory procedures, according to Albrecht. How much pain and suffering did the cavia go through because Loid convinced Albrecht that they're better off in cryo? So he could fix it? They literally *died*, the only thing saving them was the alchemical reaction the void had with radiation, which might not even be permanent.
Albrecht probably isn't bisexual and the weird insistence that he is feels kinda homophobic
Also self-explanatory. The only evidence that Albrecht is bisexual is his wife. Which we now know that he did not like, and was forced into a marriage with. "Oh, but he had a child with her!" Is such a bullshit excuse. How many times have gay men ended up with children because that's what society demands? Which is literally how he ended up with a wife in the first place? The only proven and known attraction Albrecht has is for a man. Seemingly, the only attraction he has ever had! It's not a question with Loid, even though we have the same amount of stuff basically, but for the *masculine* one, he must be bisexual! He must be! He cannot simply be gay no way!!!/s
Biggest hot take ever here
The Triad are shoehorned in, everyone but Roathe lacks depth and interest, the "poly" system sucks genuine ass and they should've been unromancable, or not datable with the hex.
I'm trying to provide insight after redeeming and romancing Roathe...and viewing this from a factual standpoint based on the KIM chats and other lore surrounding the character:
I think there might be some misunderstandings here that might be caused by how each player's KIM chats with Roathe appear. It sounds like most of this is being based off of Roathe's villain route. As someone who redeemed him, there's a lot of clashing story elements with the OP but it could also just be more in line with the vague RPG aspect of how it all plays out for each of us. I've read through his flowcharts to get a better understanding of his character. Yes, he can be villanous if you go that route, but I believe we see more of his truer intentions and morals if we go down the redemption arc.
If we're going to use the logic that Roathe is worse than Entrati for killing things, then the Tenno are right up there with them. With Ballas. All Executors. I don't believe it's a fair comparison just because he became a military strategist & soldier. (Doesn't excuse all the wrongdoings done, but Roathe & Entrati seem to be equal in this respect but in their own fields: science and military.)
As far as the game mentioned, Roathe was never made aware what Entrati's serum would do. All we know for certain was that Entrati offered Roathe a second chance at life and Roathe didn't exactly question the syringe being offered. Unless there is a factual mention that I missed, I'd be grateful to learn of it! But Roathe knew the Old War was lost, his voice messages even mention it when he had to lie to his soldiers. Lied to himself. (This is easily missed in KIM chats) There was no hope of winning, so when Entrati suddenly appeared with a syringe, yeah, Roathe took it and it lead to his guilt = cowardice.
His 'love' for Nitohk (use that word lightly) was one-sided. He despised her for what she did, how he was abused and enslaved by her despite his high rank. That was The Orokin Empire. He was likely in love with her esrly on in his career, but the level of abuse he was subjected to? He mentions how complicated that relationship was and that in the end, he truly despised her. I'll disagree over this part because I think something might be missing from OP's chats or a misunderstanding. Might also be a villain vs redemption flowchart issue where Roathe isn't as inclined to share how and what he really felt, so there's missing info and context.
Please take everything with a grain of salt, but I will add that I don't believe Roathe should hold responsibility for Adis' death. Yes, he was Nitohk's 2nd, but it was ultimately the decisions of the Executors (namely Ballas). The Old Peace even confirms that Ballas was the one responsible for setting up Adis/Tenno the way it did. I think there's some confusion in the OP?
If that was the case, then our Tenno is also partly responsible for their actions too. As is Margulis, Valdur, etc...Everyone got used and played under the Empire. I don't believe Roathe is worse than Albrecht. They're both complicated characters in their own way. Entrati had a wife forced upon him in hopes that it'd lessen his obsession with the void and scientific experiements. At the time, he didn't value life the way he does now. His forgiveness seeking and regret shown now is also telling but he's still a scientist and hasn't shown as much change as Roathe. If redeemed, at least he has the mindset to reflect on his actions and move forward in a better light. Even thanks Drifter for helping him steer towards a better moral path. Entrati has yet to even atone properly.
Agreed about Loid being an enabler...as for the cavia? They learned to accept what has happened to them and are trying to move forward. Doesn't mean the harm done to them was right, but it makes for a compelling story and to make us sympathize. Of course, video games will never make everyone 100% happy in its execution, but even issues like the cavia, it's not necessarily what should've been done, but their purpse was to provide context on Entrati's character and a glimpse into more Orokin culture. At least Entrati's mindset at the time. Whereas Loid sought to save them, likely believing it to be the more humane thing to do. Sadly, this isn't real life and we must not expect the same outcomes. It's an extremely sad plot point that will either drive the Warfrsme community to put Entrati on the same pedestal as Ballas, and/or sympathize with these animals and aid them however the game will allow. Unfortunately as stated above, the animals died but the void remade them. They're technically still alive but with consciousness. It would now be unethical to put them down because whether we as gamers like it or not, the cavia have been given a second life. The Old Peace even mentions via Loid when the Murmur intervene in the Sancrum - that the void reverted the Cavia back to animals during that short moment. I might be missing lore something but if the void left the cavia, surely they'd remain alive. Still doesn't make Entrati's decisions acceptable, but this is a mature video game.
Warframe encompasses a lot of uncomfortable topics and issues.
Nothing in this game is solely black and white. There's a lot of greyed morals, largely caused by how the Orokin Empire ruled. Roathe, even Entrati, were a byproduct of their environment. The war was kept alive in The Old Peace because Nitohk was bored and Roathe secretly wanted to tear down its rulers because their society was poison and not a good way to live. Roathe at least had enough sense to admit it in the redemption route. And maybe this is why he was chosen to become a protoframe by Albrecht, why Albrecht asked about forgiveness.
after several dozen missions, I can firmly say that neither Lyon nor Marie should be in the Descendia. or this event should have a different lore.
if I understood everything correctly, the Roathe itself cannot use theΒ Dark Refractory due to Infestation, which is why it needs a drifter. but Marie and Lyon? why are they there?.. so, an operator can be thrown into a war zone, and a tramp can't handle one Orokin? damn, it doesn't make any sense.
okay, I'll explain. it's no secret how bad the relationship of the Devil's triad is. Roathe, with the light hand of Entrati, is literally considered the worst evil in the flesh, for which he is often ridiculed and - perhaps - beaten. I doubt very much that he would trust such people to dig into his own head. he needs a blanket and something hot.. something like space soup or cocoa. not extra stress.
I like Marie and Lyon, they're pretty well-written characters, and I love their relationship with each other. and I'm not going to deny that Roathe is a little shit, but! they have to shut their mouths. both. at first, I was amused by their bickering but I'm so damn annoyed right now. this silly blue man didn't do anything to them personally, they just took the word of another blue (but not always) man of dubious reputation. these two bully Roathe in his most vulnerable state, and then wonder why he's not thrilled with their company.
so yes, Roathe and the drifter can handle the Descendia. just the two of them.
I've reanalyzed the Roathe x Drifter scene far too much, but...I think Drifter actually looks down at Roathe's mouth before he goes in for the kiss. I've watched this in 4k on a 50" tv, frame-by-frame and I've lost my mind in the middle of the night dissecting but more under the cut:
After Roathe pulls her in, I studied their expressions out of curiosity. Now, this could be game animations/lighting effects so take all of this with a grain of salt, but as Roathe's smile widens, so does Drifter's. If this isn't a play on in-game lighting & bloom effects, her gaze falls from his eyes and it's almost like that's the permission he needs to go in full force. Drifter's eyes then widen in surprise but she remains locked on his mouth as he makes his move. Idk...it's kind of sweet with all the subtle details?
Below: first pic, Drifter's looking up, second - she's looking down right as he's about to kiss her:
Another fun find:
At the beginning when Roathe places the tome on the table, Drifter is constantly glancing at him. I have no idea if this is to check his mood, stealing looks because they're newly in love, or both. (Could reinforce soemthing being taught here by Roathe.)
(Using last week's acreenshots as they're higher quality) β‘
I like that there's a playful mischievousness to their dynamic below: she looks at him placing the tome, both enjoying each other's company. (It reminds me of that book scene with Gale in BG3)
Below: She looks back at him, almost expectantly? Or following his lead. (I wish we knew what their 'time alone' was about. Is it a search for information? Is Roathe teaching a lesson, maybe about the Empire's history? Orokin culture? Helminth creation?)
Drifter looks back at the tome, Roathe placing his hand on its open page. She steals a glance again before placing her own hand next to his...seriously, what is that look? It's so loving π« it's really giving off young-love vibes despite them both being centuries old. There seems to be an air of innocence happening here. A calm, steady presence before the storm.
Then Uriel overpowers Roathe. Momentarily. Ensue the infamous hand yank.
Now, I know everyone has their own headcanons or perceptions about the entire cinematic & I'm not discrediting any of it. Personally, I like to base my own understandings of characters off of lore and how interactions play out, especially in the KIM chats. Hence the MMO/RPG elements.
In the convo where he asks Drifter what their favourite way to kill is, it's mentioned near the end how his own preferences have changed since being turned into a protoframe. He also mentions that the tail has a mind of its own (somewhat? I assume he has some control over it as time goes on.) And it bothers him.
His tail slowly comes into view as Drifter tries to pull her hand from his steel grasp. This is honestly a great show of power dynamic between a proto & Drifter. (Arthur's KIM chats during Isleweaver about not trusting Entrati was hilariously realistic if you chose the option that said Drifter didn't trust Entrati as far as they could throw him and without a warframe, their throwing arm was shit.)
[Complete sidenote headcanon that if these two ever got into an argument, all Drifter would need to do is use transference to imobilize Roathe. Aside from that, she'd be at his mercy without a warframe.] π
But my point with the last 2 images is to show how Roathe appears remorseful about his actions. What began as a peaceful, loving moment, suddenly turned into distrust likely caused by centuries of always being on guard. The Orokin created a society where no one could be trusted, and I do believe (based on his backstory from KIMs) is that his need to constantly be on guard was a momentary reflex to remain in control. It was never his intention in that moment. As Drifter was forced to look at him regardless, shock was quickly replaced with concern, and that to me, snapped Roathe out of whatever trance or instinct he'd been forced to use for survival for so long. Yes, he's still Orokin, but he's also human.
They're learning to place trust in each other, and I find it so wholesome. I'm not entirely sure about ulterior motives or superiority issues Roathe may possess as an Orokin, but in my case, he's redeemed and I think it adds more depth to his reactions in this cinematic. It isn't just about romance. It's trust.
Roathe gave Drifter the option to turn away from him after releasing her hand and yet she still chose to stay. Whether it was intended or not near the end, it does seem like he's continuously looking for approval before taking action. Much like Roathe's love confession in the Rank6Convo1, he gave Drifter the choice to back out of the relationship before he made a fool of himself. He mentioned earlier on how deeply his people loved when they fell in love, and if what the devs said how his kiss was intentionally inspired by a famous painting and meant to make players feel as though his kiss was supposed to appear uncomfortable, then it makes sense as to why. Everything happened so fast, but I also believe Roathe is all in when it comes to their relationship by this point. Drifter had to deal with a lot of his BS during Descendia, and he admits he didn't make it easy, but the level of conditioning he as a character had to unravel with our help to accept his past, seek atonement through forgiveness, etc...it's showing how he's choosing to be better. The villain path is unknown to me, but I enjoy helping people, and reflect that in gaming. π
Hex romances aside, neither of them have been in proper, healthy relationships. Survival outweighed all else. Entrati had a line somewhere telling Roathe that he was needed in this new world/future. If redeemed, Roathe's purpose might be to regain his humanity before he could truly prove useful to whatever plans we'll face in the story after Tau.
Roathe's romance may appear obsessive at times but putting aside public displays of exaggerations and performances (mainly his jabs at the triad about committing sins or giving Lyon new nightmares), it's a stark contrast to what he says in the gemini emote lines and KIM chats. The warrior within may never slow down, but he's also a romantic. I think their relationship could be a perfect balance of 'fun' destroying furniture across Duviri and elsewhere, but more heavily laced with calmer nights in one's company. Roathe admits after redemption, how he wants to be better in this world but he'll likely wear the Vice Regent Orokin mask for a long while because letting go of your past takes time. Healing takes time and he's honest about it but likely won't show the others this softer side of him. Not yet, anyway. I have no doubt he'll continue making mistakes like any other normal person, and the hand yank is a prime example of conditioning momentarily overlapsing judgment.
As always, this is purely subjective but thought I'd share a different take after completing Roathe's redemption amd getting week 2 of date scenes.

On one hand, I've succeeded in gaining everything I missed with the Triad, on the other....the Loid / Family reunion is still bugged and I have yet to get Loid back upstairs (again). The RoatheLyonRepair convo never triggered and now I'm wondering if I should just cut that loss if support tickets can't help. π
(At least Kaya is fixed, but at the cost of Loid?!)
[For anyone wanting a way to see this whole triad business in one place, I'm putting my journey under the tag #triad woes] π π
