I think that it’s really interesting to look at Hunter’s personality in TCW vs TBB because it really drives home the fact that he’s a perfectionist who does best in familiar situations and who does not like change. In TCW, we see Hunter in his element as the sergeant of a (complete and intact) squad known for its 100% success rate. The mission to retrieve Echo is a fairly routine one that Hunter (correctly) assumes will be successful, so he shows off and acts cocky and playful the entire time.
Now let’s fast-forward to TBB. The Clone Wars are over, the fascist Empire has replaced the Republic, Crosshair has left the squad, and the rest of them have decided to desert with a child in their care. Hunter is now completely and utterly out of his element, and it’s clear that a lot of his confidence is gone. He no longer acts so much like a playful, cocky, frat boy so much as he does a tired, middle-aged father. He’s no longer in the routine of going on missions assigned by the GAR, succeeding, returning home, and doing it all over again. His routine has been disrupted, and he has been made aware of very real danger that his squad and daughter can face at the hands of the Empire. Hunter avoids tackling any problem that he is not confident he can solve and is hyper-aware of any and all risks. With every failure, Hunter shuts down more and retreats further.
I have no doubt that Hunter’s sense of self-worth hinges on his ability to successfully command his squad and complete missions. His status as a “freak” and outsider growing up likely made him obsessed with proving himself worthy so that he had a record of all of his successful missions to rub in the faces of of his nay-sayers. Hunter is basically a walking, talking personification of Gifted Kid Burnout and I love him so much.
The symbolism of this scene
This scene broke me for so many reasons. Omega is Hunter's light, she represents innocence. She is what Hunter never knew he needed until she was there, and now he can't bare to lose her. And now, after losing Tech and being unable to save Crosshair, Hunter already likely felt he failed as a leader. So he chose to go back to Pabu, to let Omega live out a normal childhood and for them to rebuild their lives away from the conflict they have always known. But then Omega gets taken. And not just by a bounty hunter, this is the empire. Such a mountainous foe that, at this point in time, has only just started to grow and is becoming stronger by the day. Hunter knows this, which is why this scene hits so hard. The light, Omega's light, getting more and more distant as Hunter can do nothing but stand there, helpless, as the empire takes another member of his family away. He steps backwards a few paces, almost as if he's trying to stay in the light before it goes completely, to hang on as much as he can because he can't bare to lose any more. But, in the end, he ends up in the darkness.

Bobas new armour is actually pretty interesting, especially because of how the stripes are on his helmet. In the originals, his helmet stripes are gold. With mandalorian armour, colour has meaning. The green on his helmet is for duty, and the gold stripes are for vengeance. In bobas case, its vengeance for his father. Now in the mandalorian, the stripes are red. Red means honouring a parent, which means Boba is now trying to honour Jango rather than seeking revenge, and I think he's more at peace with it all, which I think is pretty cool if that is the case.
About the darksaber,
I feel like its ok for Bo-katan to refuse the darksaber from Din because she didn't earn it, because when Sabine gave it to her, Sabine didn't win it off Maul, so it wasn't rightfully hers by combat, so it was ok for Bo-katan to take it. Whereas in this situation, Din won it off Moff Gideon fairly by combat, so rightfully it is his.

When we finally get news on Levi and Hange -
Voltron S8
So as I’m sure we all know by now, this will be the last season of Voltron. And I think we all need to come together to appreciate what we have left of it.
I think for the last season all of the fandom should just appreciate the amazing characters we all love, no matter who they end up with. If they don’t end up to be canon ships, there will always be terrific fan art about them!
When season 8 first launches, I think the entire fandom should at least try to just enjoy the last season without any hate towards others and the ships they want to support. I know some people are bound to be upset about the outcome of season 8 in some way or another, that’s inevitable. But this is going to be the LAST season of Voltron, and I think we should just make it last.
