Sometimes I feel bad about being fat, but then I remember that Heavy is fat too and I feel 20x more confident.

Since our societal perception of gender is largely centered on social roles and behaviors, autistic people are often viewed as failed versions of their gender (ask me how I know). I do wonder if this perception is part of why I see a lot of fanon portrayals of Tech as being less able to “handle” romantic advances, as having significantly less sexual prowess than say, Hunter, or as being less physically capable than his batch mates. Obviously, these traits don’t equate to “failing” at manhood and aren’t required to be a man, but I still think it’s worthwhile to look at how people have Tech perform masculinity versus how they write other clones.

I’m really uncomfortable with the proliferation of posts that are some variation on “it’s okay to be childfree by choice, but you shouldn’t be cruel to parents and children.” I agree with this idea in the literal sense because children and their parents are people, and I believe in treating other people with at least basic human dignity, but I am suspicious of the motives and context of these posts. I find it interesting that people are assuming that not wanting to be a parent automatically comes with an automatic, vocal hostility towards children. The people on Reddit calling kids “crotch goblins” and insinuating that mothers are brainwashed sheeple are a very loud minority. Most of us who don’t want to be parents just aren’t comfortable with the idea of becoming parents and don’t like it when other people try to push us into changing our minds. That’s literally it. This knee-jerk response to people expressing just this viewpoint is the same hatred and distrust of childfree people that conservatives tend to have wearing a progressive hat.
