7- What’s the last thing you read that made you cry?

i reread Inside My Mind (Trying to Get Things Right) by @agent-harkness recently! as expected and as always, it absolutely moved me to tears. mal has such an unbelievable grasp on both jack and owen, and i cannot explain how visceral and real her narration makes owen’s anxiety. just incredible.

8-  Bed sharing or roommates AU?

bed sharing. bed sharing is the stupidest fanfiction trope, the most overdone, and i will eat it up every time. the awkward tension of lying that close but not touching, a waking up to find b wrapped around them and pretending to be asleep so they can stay there longer just end me.

9-  Fake dating or arranged marriage?

fake dating. pining is the ultimate trope and i will never get over my love for it. the thinking the other is pretending ? the soft touches and kissing and oh my god “we only slept together for the realism of it but you were so careful and loving with me and god i’m in love” FUCK ME UP.

10-  Mutual pining or enemies to friends to lovers?

4-  give me a character headcanon!

tosh’s flat is clean. meticulously, ridiculously, unbelievably clean. every drawer is organized. her closet is sorted by weather, length, and color, in that order. her mirrors are spotless. there isn’t a speck of dust in the place. except - except for the storage closet, which is a door hidden behind a lovely decorative tapestry in her bedroom. if anyone were to find that door and open it, they would find it absolutely stuffed to the brim with random bits and bobs, decor, old papers, half-finished projects, clothes that she’s meant to give to a charity shop for three years running, 6 different versions of her leather coat that have been absolutely ruined by torchwood missions (there’s another 8 in her closet; she was smart enough to buy them in bulk), and a hamster cage because she’d planned to get a hamster at one point and never had. it’s the compromise she makes for her busy life and her clean flat. eventually, she’ll have to go through that closet...or she can leave it for whatever unlucky torchwood agent has to sift through it after her death (it’s ianto).

19- what would your role be if you were to work at the Hub?

oh good lord, i’m chaos. um - i think my job would be a lot of organizational work, since that’s my career path. paperwork, filing, administrative things, a lot of the behind-the-scenes things that ianto does, honestly. though...i’d worry for ianto’s sanity if we were to work together, because honestly, i never shut up, and i think either he’d have to put in for a transfer or they’d have to find other things for me to do. at which point, i imagine gwen and i would get on well in terms of interviewing people and tracking down leads. :) i’d also imagine i would be tasked with a fair bit of cleanup work after missions, and honestly they might actually be more secretive if they had someone specifically for that, rather than giving poor ianto the task of retconning everyone and doing what he can on top of the 8,000 other tasks he’s assigned.

3- favourite season and why?

season two, without a doubt. the writing is more coherent than season one. the team are all far more fleshed out as characters. there’s multiple ongoing arcs that are woven throughout. we get owen’s death arc, which is incredible, we see more janto as they come together into a real relationship. we get the team struggling without jack in the beginning, we have the backstories that fragments gives us. there’s a definite more found-family feel, a better understanding of each other, and a clearer view of torchwood as a whole. we know the team by now, instead of the weird off-and-on slow/disjointed development we get in s1. and we have guest appearances by martha fucking jones and john hart, so what’s not to love? also everyone is just…exceptionally pretty in season two, and my bi heart wants what it wants.

10- favourite ship outside the main three (not jack/ianto, tosh/owen, or gwen/rhys)?

oh i may get murdered for this, but i love gwen and owen together. i have to preface this with the disclaimer that yes, cheating is wrong, the arc went nowhere and rhys deserved so much better, and the retcon bit was shit writing and should not have happened. but outside of the circumstances of their cheating, i really ship them together. owen tempers gwen’s naiveté at the beginning, and she brings a new light to what is his usually pessimistic outlook. their joking and banter is so easy and fun, they’re clearly attracted to each other, and i love the way she goes to him. it’s more than sex, it’s a grounding force. she needs someone who understands, and he opens up and shows a softer side in order to help her through it. yes, it ended badly, and yes, it was wrong in that she was with rhys and they both knew it. but i think there was something very genuine there that, played out in other circumstances, could have been very good for them both.

and that scene in his flat at the end of countrycide was hot, you can’t deny that.

18- best platonic relationship?

i’d say it was obvious if i didn’t have two i absolutely adore. the first, clearly, being gwen and ianto. i love their friendship, i love their banter and jokes. i adore the scenes in adam and in kiss kiss, bang bang where they’re bantering and teasing and gossiping. i’ll never be over the moment in countrycide where she holds him in the cannibals’ den. the way she adjusts his tie constantly. the way she does that even after his death. her well-intentioned pushing him to answer about his sexuality and how he knows that snapping at her won’t put her off anything but bugging him in that moment. there’s a really fascinating character arc that happens from her completely ignoring him at the beginning (he was trying to fade into the background, so that was working for him) to the point that in her retcon-fueled panic note to herself she doesn’t even mention him, to the sudden reveal of his backstory and intentions in cyberwoman, to their growing camaraderie in the ongoing seasons. the way they banter in outbreak is a picture-perfect snapshot of their friendship and love and the way they tease each other. obviously i could talk about their friendship forever, but you know better than i do how much i adore them.

and then! and then. there’s jack and tosh. the man who swooped in at the worst moment of this terrified woman’s existence like a guardian angel, who really saw her and recognized her brilliance, who saved her from literally a lifetime of abuse and imprisonment. she’s the first to question him (how many times does he have to tell her “just do it!”), but the first to dive in headfirst to a situation she doesn’t know for him. she runs to him first when he resurrects at the end of end of days, the way she leaps into his arms and he simply holds her has a special place in my heart. she’s the first to forgive him in kkbb, and the way she questions his judgement calls in combat and argues with him in sleeper gives a really clear look into the way she trusts him enough to do that, especially when she’s regularly as non-confrontational as that.

and then obviously, the moment in exit wounds when he’s holding her as she dies, and she looks at him one last time like he put the stars in the sky.

17- if your favourite member had a pet, what would it be? if you can’t pick a favourite, tell me about more than one!

well, gwen is my favorite, obviously, and i like to think that if she had a pet, it would be a cat. she’s often not home, and rhys drives lorries, so their pet would absolutely have to be self-sufficient.

torchwood went on what was a run-of-the-mill mission for them, but some innocent civilian was killed by aliens before they were put on the scent. there was a very grumpy and frightened, scruffy grey cat with yellow eyes that tosh insists stare straight through her soul left behind by the dead owner. gwen couldn’t possibly bear to just drop it off at a shelter, and ianto said there was absolutely no way it was staying in the hub, where he would be responsible for it. so gwen wrestled it into a cat carrier, despite its indignant refusal and a fair amount of scratches, and lugged it home. she expected rhys to argue with her about it, but the second that damned cat saw him, it was in love. so now, gwen doesn’t really have a cat, rhys has a cat, and eventually it warms to her. rhys names it gatland, after warren gatland, the coach of the wales national rugby union team in 2008 (and he was damn good), but they call it ‘gat’ so often than in the end it just sounds like ‘cat’, so when anwen is born and gets old enough to speak, she calls it ‘cat’.
