I finished Heated Rivalry in January and the Long Game in…February I think? So it’s been a bit.

100/10 for both. I’m gonna talk about both of them (because I’m behind and this is easier) because I want to compare and contrast.

Here’s the book report(This goes without saying, but SPOILERS!)

If you don’t know, Rachel Reid wrote these books. Her writing is delicious and emotional and a bit cringy at times but that’s completely fine with me. If you see this girl, I love you and your books.

Favorite Character: Ilya in both books. He so freaking funny and he’s so HAWT. I have a clear picture of him since the show and I need him. Of course, this doesn’t mean I loved Shane any less. I love Ilya’s autistic boyfriend, but I’m just an Ilya girl.

I honestly didn’t know queerness was such a hush-hush thing in hockey-then again, I don’t know much about a lot of sports. I’m just kinda like, who cares, they’re still playing hockey for you. So it really broke my heart when Shane’s team reacted poorly in the second book. Fuh dem hoes. I know the first book take’s place several years ago, but ‘tis’ no excuse.

Let’s go back to the FUCKING COTTAGE. Oh my gooooooood. We really got our fill in those two weeks, and so did our boys. The secrecy really makes Shane almost as shameless as Ilya.

The entirety of this book(the first one), I was expecting some crazy plot twist at the end. Like most gay books, tragedy strikes, or someone is outed, and now they must break up. But they literally cracked, said I love you, and cracked som more. It was just a happy little ending

Fuck that stupid man who I can’t remember the name of who like is in charge of the NHL. Someone remind me who this guy even is.

Hayden’s children are soooooo cutie. Their little wedding for Shane and Ilya was my favorite part. Ilya is so good with kids, I can’t wait for Shane to get pregnant.

If you’re not on the Hollonov train, get a fucking ticket. You’ll be giggling and kicking your feet. Can’t wait for the next book! I’m reading Game Changer right now.

10/10. Really good book. It felt really refreshing to dive back into the universe E. Lockhart has created

This book took me about four days to finish. Also, the cover and pages are BEAUTIFUL.

Here’s the book report(This goes without saying, but SPOILERS! - I do wanna say that I read this book in January and I was lazy, and I struggle to remember some details, so if this report feels not as good as the others, that’s why.)

Lockhart’s writing is so unique and oddly I love it. It adds some sort of ominous undertones for the dark or mysterious scenes.

Favorite Character - Brock. He’s just chill. Was he struggling with addiction? Yes. Was he also hiding things? Yes. Do any of these things matter? No. He’s just a sweetheart. And from what the book says, he’s hot. I will say that I shipped him and Meer since they liked to write on each other, which so did everyone else but I wanted more gay. But, Meer got a boyfriend. However, Brock’s sexuality is to be determined, so I have a chance.

Ok I love Meer but if I was there he would have annoyed the hell out of me. I originally thought Tatum was a meany but then I found out what he deals with. He’s probably a second favorite-he got bonus points for being gay-I would have loved him more if he was responsible and took accountability.

Tatum kinda gives Steve Harrington, in the aspect of, “I take care of these children because who else will?” I want him to appreciated more. He’s just a kid and lives the life of an adult, in this place that’s supposed to be a paradise, he’s like a prisoner. The whole time, when he was dealing with the “I hate this place but if I leave then-“, I was like “girl just leave, these fuckers will have to figure it out…but take Matilda, Meer and Brock with you.”

June scares me guys.

THE CONNECTION TO THE SINCLAIRS? I didn’t need that heartbreak again.

The twist was shocking. I was kinda of thinking, “what if he’s just dead?.” I think I would have been more violent than Matilda. You mean my dad, who has never tried to be in my life or contact me, who slept with women several times younger than him, is barely alive and vulnerable? I’ll let you connect the dots

The ending was cute, and honestly my dream. There have many times where I said to my friends, “what if we all lived together?” Which isn’t exact but it’s close to what they did.

I recommend this book x10. It’s so mysterious and the twist is crazy. If you read We Were Liars or Family of Liars, you’ll like this. It didn’t destroy me like We Were Liars but I still loved it. If you care, I’ll try my best to construct the other book reports.

And Sara, planning to release a book at the END of this year is truly diabolical. It’s literally gay Greek mythology, which is like, my favorite.

I haven’t had the energy to make posts about any of the books I’ve read but I wanted to acknowledge this one

11/10. Mwah. Mwah. Mwah. I truly grew to love this book. I hold several of the character in my heart(like I usually do), and think of them fondly.

Here’s a quote from the book: “He bottomed, but I feel like I’m the one who’s fucked.”

Given the context, that’s so cutsey. This book took about a week for me to finish. I read reviews online about people who dnf’d it because of all the smut and you guys are whimps I guess. I went into this book thinking I wasn’t going to like it, but now I love it. (Of course, respect to those who truly don’t love so much smut. We all have preferences.)

I really enjoyed the writing and found it similar to God of Fury. The difference between the chapters of Avi and Kyran and the way they see each other made the book better.

Favorite character: Kyran’s bestie Guty. He’s so funny and goofy and adjacent to queerness. At least, I think so. He was so supportive of Kyran when he came out and was dating Avi. He even helped Avi out when they couldn’t find Kyran. I mean, he’s just so lovable. And he’s hot. Zeb sure thinks so.

This. Book. Is. SSSSSPICY. I don’t know why people were complaining; I was eating that shit up. My favorite smut scene(is it weird to have a favorite smut scene?) was when Kyran told Avi to tell him he’s beautiful. I feel like during those scenes, Avi and the reader get the real Kyran.

I love Kyran but he was pissing me off. I rolled my eyes every-time he ran away and pushed the gay away. Like gang, it’s 2026(I don’t know when the book was written), people are gay Steven.

Fuck that stupid priest and Kyran’s mom.

I feel like, if I were Kyran, I wouldn’t have forgiven my dad as quick as he did. Like, the same day. I can hold a grudge, so it would have been awhile. I feel we could of had more that that

That five weeks of Kyran being gone was torture, especially for Avi but also me.

The epilogues were really cute. It’s crazy that they once were trying to fist fight each other.

Big spoiler, so don’t read this if you haven’t read: if it really bothers you that they’re stepbrothers, they aren’t stepbrothers at the end…And they hated each other for years so it’s whatever.

I highly recommend this book. I was kicking my fucking feet. This was my first Nyla K. book and I really enjoyed reading. Also, in like every question that wasn’t a like of dialogue, there were two questions marks…Am I missing something? Also, this book report is very late. 😅

Quite fun actually. I got to go to Barnes and Noble and I bought five books because everyone was 25% off.

A solid 7/10. It was truly an emotional roller coaster that had me happy and pissed off several times.

I can’t quite remember when I started this book, some time before Christmas break started. I finished it on Saturday when I was reading ALL DAY with my cousin.

Here’s the book report(This goes without saying, but SPOILERS!)

This book was definitely written for an audience younger than books I usually read, and I didn’t mind that. I wasn’t super into it the first half of the book, but then it hooked me for the other half. The writing is cute and Patch is quite eloquent. But he is insufferable. He’s very self-absorbed and kinda narcissistic, so reading from his perspective was a bit annoying.

My favorite character is Sam. He’s so cute. It’s adorable that he bought the same book he saw Patch reading so he could go talk to him, and then read it in a coffee shop. How aesthetic is that. I mean, I’m not sure I would fancy Patch the way Sam does, but hey, I’m not judging. He’s so sweet and it doesn’t matter if he’s shy. Plus, near the end, he didn’t seem so shy.

Ms. Beckett is a close second. Since she’s so wise apparently. I bet Sophie got what was coming to her. The thought of a hungover English teacher is so funny to me and experience I can’t wait for, should it arrive.

Patch doesn’t deserve Jean. She is the voice of reason and a really good friend. And sometimes, her hair clips are stylish.

I feel like anyone could have predicted that both Sam and Peter were going to end up liking Patch. I just didn’t expect it all to happen at the end. And the Patch FAKE FAINTED. Like what the hell are we doing here???

We gotta give Tessa some credit for not being the backstabbing bitch Patch made her out to be.

I do recommend this books for a quick little comedy kind-of-romance book. I enjoyed it. It’s crazy that Patch is gay and in drama club and I am gay and in drama club. Now, I hope I’m not as annoyingly dramatic to my friends and family as Patch is to everyone around him.

BRODHEBRJEUSBRHDIS. 1000/10. Words can hardly describe the love I have for this books. It was my first ever dark romance book and I think it’s my new addiction.

I started this book last Monday and finished it on Wednesday. She would have been done in two days if I didn’t have to go to school.

Dude, the contrast between reading Bran and Niko’s chapter is crazy. There’s at least 15 curse words on each page of Niko’s chapters: I may be exaggerating but you get the point. It truly conveys the lack of control Niko has on his emotions and the impulse he feels. And then, Bran’s chapters give what Niko is slowly trying to penetrate(hehehe). We already get to see Bran’s control slipping, even when he desperately tries to glue it back together.

Favorite character had to be Niko. Reading his chapters is SO funny. He’s so blunt and unserious. Also, he. Is. HAWT. I am down baaaaaad. The long black hair. The muscles. The tattoos…Mouth watering. And the way he treats Bran has been gnawing at the bars of my enclosure. I kinda thought I would not like the possessiveness, but I ate that shit up.

The smut in this book is unlike any I’ve ever read. Most of the books I’ve read that contain intimacy, the scenes are pretty tame. But THIS was different. Different does not mean bad. It was a pleasure to read. Now, I will say, I’m not very experienced when it comes to reading smut, so I can only assume someone is reading this and chuckling because of the worse things they’ve read. I applaud that. I’ll get there.

Every time Niko spoke to Kolya like it was a person, I was cackling.

Ugh, I feel so bad for Brandon. I love him and I hate what stupid fucking Grace did to him. As we all do.

I really liked reading the whole sequence of Niko staying at Brandon’s house before it all went to shit. Those moments were sweet and ones I had to savor.

I highly recommend his book if you want to read a spicy MLM dark romance. It’s a standalone book that can be read with the Legacy of the Gods series. I don’t think I’m going to read those because they’re all straight smut…Don’t hate, I just would rather read an MLM book.

For me it was this comic of Batman and Robin based off the campy 60s show of them.
