soot sprite afro puffs!!! original look by Eden's Garden art by nana luvbug patreon * commissions * shop
White women 5-10 years ago: Haha black women wear wigs cuz they have no hair and their hair is always ugly see we have naturally luscious Garnier™ hair and we wear extension pieces cuz we don't need weaves and all that extra stuff and ugh black women hairstyles are so Ghetto™ lol we can do flat ironed hair and wand curls and those are the only acceptable ones
Black women: *continue to do their own thing*
White women now, sobbing, throwing up: But who said white women can't wear wigs or have curly perms and why can't we wear the same braids and styles we degraded for decades and centuries why are black women so mean like what if we want to wear the Ghetto™ hairs too and change formulas in products and give established hairstyles new names after acting very much Christina Columbus about it plus we've struggled so much like other white women insult our hair if it's not perfect and that's black women's fault and one time a black girl said we have hair like straw after we called her hair a nappy piece of cotton it's just hair c'mon please let us do the Kardashian braids like we don't understand—
"Eww look at how curvy they are 🤢 could you imagine looking like that? Why's her butt so big? Is it not embarrassing to have proportions like that? Hehe, her lips are ginormous. She looks like a monkey 🤭 Do Black Girls' hair even grow? Her skin is so dark. I'd NEVER stand in the sun if i was that dark. She looks so mean. Why does it seem like they carry lotion with them everywhere?? Can't relate. My skin doesn't ash bc I'm white uwu. Her nose is like, yikes. 👀 Black people have such plain eyes. Black girls are so aggressive. Her hair is so nappy. Black girls are so loud. Speak proper English. 🙄They're so ghetto. They twerk like, nonstop. 😮💨 it's annoying. Have some class. Acrylic nails are ghetto. Hooped & large earrings, too. She has a grill? Hoodrat. 😂 she probably grew up on welfare or in section 8 housing. I bet she has a lot of sex. 😒 I bet she has kids. I bet she doesn't know her dad🤣 I bet she talks Black. Ask if thats her real hair lol. Touch it. Is it rough? Lmao. I'd never go to Africa. Black girls shouldn't cosplay. They're so bitter. They're so rude."
They've forgotten. They pretending.
also you can't tell me black Vulcans wouldn't sport this type of haircut. the geometric shapes, the clean lines, the symmetry? absolutely Vulcan to the core. straight haired Vulcans wish they could look this flawless. scientifically this is the Most Vulcan Haircut
there's also the more parabolic traditional Amasunzu hairstyles of the Tutsi, worn up until the 1900's
but, when you get down to it, anything with braids is a remarkable celebration of math (and controlled entropy)

Some last minute birthday pictures. I’m soo not used to being in front of a legitimate camera lol, I’ve gotten used to phone cameras.
I hope the nervous awkwardness isn’t apparent in my face😬
First of all, HELL. Second of all, YEAH!
You DO NOT need to give every Black character you draw laid edges/baby hairs. Especially if they are children. Just because "baby" is in the name, do not assume that means children MUST have them. Learn how to draw a hairline. Learn to be okay AND NORMAL about foreheads and bald people. Learn why laid edges became a thing in the first place. Stop only ever drawing the ONE Black cultural hairstyle you saw on Pinterest, and running it to the ground like y'all did with the Killmonger locs.
PLEASE LISTEN TO HER! LISTEN TO OTHER BLACK PEOPLE, BLACK CREATORS, BLACK CREATIVES, BLACK ARTISTS, BLACK WRITERS, LISTEN TO THE WHOLE BLACK COMMUNITIES!
There are so many Black people's Hairstyles all over the internet! There are so many creators like OP who can help you with that!
