Ok because I’ve been posting midnight burger stuff here I’m going to rant here because the lovely people in the subreddit don’t seem to understand “I communicate with spores” means the spores are how Shel communicates. The fact that the radio and Bertbert’s recorder don’t have brain language receptors for the spores to interact with doesn’t mean that’s not how they communicate, it just means it’s a don’t worry about it because it’s not important to stress the details aspect of the story. It’s not like Shel has a face, they’re literally a tree. I like to think about it in a huh I wonder if Bertbert actually got a recording or if she got back to Sigius and it was just a one sided conversation because that’s funny to picture, not because I think Shel talks in some other way than literally spores interacting with brains and then reporting back to them. I don’t know why I can’t handle people not getting this, but it’s annoying any time someone brings it up.

New goal: learning three languages to troll racists (and learning to play the long game since it’ll probably take a few years at least)
