My mother cried the day I was born because she knew she’d never be prettier than me.

And she knows… She knows that she’ll never be enough for anyone, for herself. If she’s nice, they take advantage of her; if she stands her ground, they say she’s stubborn. If she puts on makeup, they say she’s trying way too hard, and if she doesn’t, they say she needs some. If she talks a lot, they call her annoying, but when she is silent they whisper about her. And if she tries open up, they shut her down, so she faces this battle alone.

People who seem cold and tough have given too much of their warmth to people who didn’t care.

You are not a reflection of the people who can’t love you.

Love is an attempt to change a piece of a dream world into reality.

Nice people don’t necessarily fall in love with nice people.

Because not having a clue who you are hurts way too much. And one thing I did know for sure: I was tired of hurting.

One of the hardest things you will ever have to do my dear is grieve the loss of a person who is still alive.
