German Island, Port Barton by Adam Lewis Via Flickr: / My Blog / Best Served Cold / During our stay on Albaguen island we booked a boat for the day to go snorkelling in the nearby reefs. Lunchtime, our guide took us to German island where we ate fresh barbecued tuna steaks and salad. We were lucky enough to have this island to ourselves for an hour or so and take in the beauty of it all. Shot with a Nikon D3200 and a Tamron SP AF 17-50mm
Butterfly collecting nectar by Adam Lewis Via Flickr: / My Blog / Best Served Cold / Another shot from the Bohol Habitat Conservation Center. Loads of bright flowers for these butterflies and moths to feed from. Shot with a Nikon D3200 and a Nikon AF-S 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 VR
Tarsier - Bohol by Adam Lewis Via Flickr: / My Blog / Best Served Cold / On the island of Bohol, The Philippines live these interesting looking creatures. An endangered species, we saw this one at a semi wild conservation centre near Corella in Bohol called: Tarsier Research and Development Center. With incredibly good hearing and being nocturnal, we had to sneak around this enclosure to not disturb them too much. Whilst open to tourists, only a small section is viewable leaving the rest of the population in peace. Shot with a Nikon D3200 and a Nikon AF-S 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 VR
Battle scared butterfly by Adam Lewis Via Flickr: / My Blog / Best Served Cold / On a day trip into Bohol, we stopped at the Bohol Habitat Conservation Center. Only a quick visit and they hurried us through, but we had a chance to capture a few images. This butterfly had some wing damage, but still flew around our heads easily enough. Shot with a Nikon D3200 and a Nikon AF-S 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 VR

A slow shutter speed (20 seconds) shot of the funicular tram coming up to the peak in Hong Kong.
Opened in 1926, the Peak Tram is the fastest way up to the top of “The Peak” as the locals call it. A great view at night despite all the “fog” in the distance.

Albaguen Island Sunset by Adam Lewis Via Flickr: / My Blog / Best Served Cold / Relaxing in our beach hut drinking a fresh coconut with a shot of Vodka in it and this was the view. Very relaxing. We stayed in the Blue Cove Island resort on Albaguen Island and whilst the accommodation was basic, the views and location were amazing. Shot with a Nikon D3200 and a Tamron SP AF 15-50mm
Bangka sunset by Adam Lewis Via Flickr: / My Blog / Best Served Cold / Shot just off Panglao island near Bohol in the Philippines. We sat and watched the local fishermen pack up for the night. These noisy boats are the transport of choice around the island and great fun. Shot with a Nikon D3200 and a Tamron SP AF 15-50mm

Inland on the road leading up to it were poppies lining the roadside. Shot with a Nikon D3200 and a Tamron SP AF 15-50mm

Guard duty - Whipsnade on Flickr.
/ My Blog / Best Served Cold / Meerkats forage in a group, known as a mob, gang or a clan. Whilst the rest of the gang find food, they have a sentry watching out for predators which is why you'll often see one of these animals keeping a good lookout at the zoo. Apparently there's a website where you can compare them... Shot with a Nikon D3200 and a Nikon AF-S 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 VR
Window and bell - Spinalonga, Crete on Flickr.
/ My Blog / Best Served Cold / Spinalonga is most noted for it's leper colony from 1903 until 1957, one of the last active colonies in Europe! Now a popular tourist attraction where visitors can wander around the fort and colony buildings or soak up some sun on one of the small beaches. Shot with a Nikon D3200 and a Nikon 18.0-55.0 mm f/3.5-5.6
Whipsnade Flamingos in the lake on Flickr.
A simple shot of some flamingos at a fun day out at the zoo yesterday.
Râșnov Citadel, Romania on Flickr.
/ My Blog / Best Served Cold / After a ride up a hill in a tractor, a wonderful medieval group of buildings await you with a view over the plains and into the distant mountains. The buildings within the Citadel contained traditional arts and crafts and plenty of information about the history of the region. This shot is a view from the highest point of the citadel looking over the terracotta roofs looking out through the mist to the distant mountains. Shot with a Nikon D3200 and a Tamron SP AF 17-50mm
Padded room - Bucharest, museum of contemporary art on Flickr.
/ My Blog / Best Served Cold / In the Palace of the Parliament, Bucharest, Romania, is the National museum of contemporary art. Contained on one of the floors of the museum was an entire collection of light and colour exhibits. The one pictured here allowed the public to take their shoes off and clamber around the room and each padded tile, when pressed, emitted a different sound. Put a room like this in your home and you'd keep the kids entertained for hours! Shot with a Nikon D3200 and a Tamron SP AF 17-50mm

National museum of contemporary art - Bucharest on Flickr.
/ My Blog / Best Served Cold / Within the Palace of the Parliament, Bucharest, Romania, is the National museum of contemporary art. In a contrast to the rest of the palace, the museum has a glass edifice containing elevators to get you from floor to floor. The building itself, the 2nd largest in the world after the pentagon, is impressive in size to say the least. Still unfinished after the fall from power of Nicolae Ceaușescu, the building is a powerful reminder of his regime and is visible from much of Bucharest. Shot with a Nikon D3200 and a Tamron SP AF 17-50mm
Miniature Brașov - Tilt/Shift on Flickr.
/ My Blog / Best Served Cold / Deep in Transylvania and surrounded by the Southern Carpathians lies Brașov; a beautiful Romanian town steeped with history. Taking a vertiginous cable car ride up into the surrounding hills revels the town sprawled out into the distance with the most notable buildings in the square below, including the fabled Black Church and the town hall. I thought I'd use the tilt/shift effect for this shot to represent this great part of Romania; well worth a visit if you're ever in the area!
