Mihawk's first week at Cross Guild:

Buggy: So, Hawkeyes! Does the 't' stand for "THE World's Greatest Swordsman"!?

Mihawk's first week at Cross Guild:

So many theories about Mihawk being a former god knight or at least a former noble are going around and i've been thinking about it.

Mihawk and Shamrock having a thing and it's good, they're happy together. They swordfight, they talk late into the nights, they share a bed and they know they won't be able to marry, not in their world,but as long as they're discret, they can be together. Then, Mihawk leave or get banished or has to flee, whatever happened. Everything ends up brutally without any closure.

Shamrock just lost one of the only good things in his life and he never get over it. He carries his duty, knowing he can't die and resigned to a joyless life.

Mihawk tries to find Shamrock in Shanks but it doesn't work long term because Shanks isn't his brother, and the similarities only highlight the differences. It works for a while though, Shanks is a worthy enough rival to keep him interested.

But deep down, he ressents Shanks for not being Shamrock and when Shanks loses his arm and needs time to recuperate before being able to duel again, it's one more difference with Shamrock and a new frustration and he can't push down his feelings anymore, this man isn't his brother, he isn't his Shammy and he can't stand it. And he's an asshole about it and he hates Shanks a bit because the man manages to keep a friendly face and be nice with him even after everything and he could never replace Shamrock.

He becomes the world greatest swordman, a good goal for a while but what to do once you're the best? Then, there is Zoro, Perona, Cross Guild and life becomes interesting again. Yet, he still wishes he could share all of this with Shamrock.

How did he find his little goth island?

Why did he become the Marine Hunter, why did he stop?(Ok, love that Zoro and Mihawk are opposite here. Marine Hunter, turned Warlord working for the marines (barely) and Pirate Hunter Zoro, turned pirate)

How did he meet Shanks?

Who was the greatest swordsman before him?

Why did Kuma know he could trust Mihawk to train Zoro? Why did Kuma know Perona would be safe with Mihawk?

That Zoro, on the other hand, is very awkward & uncomfortable with women in a romantic/sexual sense

and this actually makes Zoro's interactions with Hiyroi in Wano 10xs funnier imo

Especially since it seems Oda might be paralleling his reaction to her with Rayleigh's reaction to Shakky in the God Valley flahsbacks

Because does this mean Zoro actually kind of liked Hiyori, but was so incredibly inept at talking to women that he came off rude & dismissive?
