Ramblings of a Lazy CS Student

Summoner- What is your comfort film?Well, well, well, look what the catkin dragged in. If it isn’t my Palauan computer friend. Back for more tumblies, I see? 

To answer your question, deserter, my comfort film is a toss up between the first Digimon Movie and A Knight’s Tale. Boy oh boy, the Digimon Movie is a regular cavalcade of 90s moods, great humor, fun action, emotionally touching moments, all wrapped up in a silky smooth bow from the Toei Animation studio. That film received a clean-ass 25% Rotten Tomatoes rating, which goes to show what dumb ass critics know about children.

On the other hand, A Knight’s Tale is a film that is impossible to watch for the first time as an adult because it was written and directed with specifically me in mind, as a little kid I understood very well what being a knight was about, and Heath Ledger was there to make sure I could shatter my body for true love in style. But its so silly, so unabashedly fun, so full of big, dumb heroics that its impossible to not at least laugh while you watch it.

Arithmetician- What is a subject or pursuit you struggle with, but keep returning to?You know better than anyone that I don’t struggle. 

Okay, music. I am so bad at music. I can play the violin *tolerably*, but I cannot sing, write music, write lyrics, none of it, and I want to! I think I may try to make digital music next. At least I can sample Final Fantasy and have fun with it.

Chemist- What are three things that you cannot go without if you’re going out for a long day?Oh man, since starting my new job I am working 4 days a week, 10 hour shifts. Which I love, don’t get me wrong. 3 day weekends and a set schedule? Can’t be mad at that in terms of what you can expect from capitalism, ya feel me? I’m not gonna mention my phone. That is a given, that’s obvious, that’s like saying “my car keys” or “my Pikachu socks,” what kind of a fool do you take me for?

But I will mention my sports clip bluetooth headphones. Lifesavers! Makes the day so short when I can leave my phone at my desk, charging, and go about my biz without worrying about wires holding me up or my phone dying. 

Next up, canteen. I got coffee. I got tea. I got water. I got Amp energy drink that I poured out of the can into it that morning. Need to stay hydrated and need something to dramatically swig from periodically.

Last? Tablet and kit. Never know when I gotta plug into the console port of a router and do something very illegal.
