A Case of the Wiggins

Are we few who actually like btvs s5-7 more than s1-3? ( s4 is an odd one in between but I love it too )

Was gonna leave it in the tags but figured I’d yap about it instead. (While I am not shy about having a myriad of issues with s7,) I do greatly prefer the 4-7 run to the 1-3 run, and I think the show overall is better in the second half. I think the writers were still getting a grasp on the show and the characters in the first few seasons, while they’re a lot more comfortable with it in the second half. And I think that the characters carry the weaker parts of the second half more so than the first. An interesting way I like to look at it (and I have a post about this sitting in my drafts I never finished typing up) is comparing the show’s Bad episodes. I would much prefer to watch something like Beer Bad or Doublemeat Palace than something like Go Fish or like The Pack. Because the characters have been better developed, at this point even if the plot of an episode is kinda bad (although I named them I do love both beer bad and doublemeat), just watching the characters makes up for it in a way that I don’t they they do as well in the early seasons. (And like, that’s not to say I dont like the early seasons, of course I do, and they have absolutely a ton of standout moments, but I believe as an overall experience, the latter half is better.)
