it's a disaster zone

I feel like we say “unfollow ppl if they make u feel uncomfortable” but i feel like we don’t say “unfollow ME if you feel uncomfortable/stop enjoying my content” enough. Which should mean the same thing but still. You guys don’t need a reason! Doesn’t matter if you’ve been following me for a week or a year!

The wildfires in Greece/Turkey. Flash floods in China and Europe. Asphalt-melting heat domes in Canada. Polar vortexes. This is what 1.1/1.2 degrees of warming looks like. We would need a massive structural change to all major world economies to avoid 1.5 degrees of warming. And if we overshoot that, we risk disintegrating ice sheets, the melting of permafrost (releasing more greenhouse gases into the atmosphere), and the Amazon becoming savannah. Those are the stakes. Every businessperson or politician who says we can wait, who sets 2040 targets, doesn’t get it.

It is not the question “how do I access the same structures of power as my oppressor” that needs to be answered, on the contrary. The force that drives us is “how do I destroy these cruel and unjust structures?” Anything else seeks to obtain advantages that only exist because others suffer.
