Hello my lovely little chocolate chips! Since my last recipe called for, if you wanted to make it from scratch, a graham cracker crust you had to use the oven for I thought I’d teach you guys something you absolutely do not have to use the oven for! It’s a Peanut Butter Pie with an Oreo crust. My fantastic and absolutely genius friend Carina suggested the title of this recipe because of our love of the amazing web comic, Check, Please!. I hope you guys like making, and eating, this Peanut Bittle Pie! Let’s get started!

Step One: Gather Your Ingredients and Your Equipment

Oreo Crust:

Ingredients

1 Package of Oreos

1 stick of Butter, 8 Tablespoons

**NOTE** You can also buy a pre-made Oreo Crust from the Grocery Store

Equipment

Medium Bowl

Spoon

Pie Pan

Food Processor OR 1 Large Plastic Bag and a Rolling Pin

Peanut Butter Filling:

Ingredients

1 ½ cups Creamy Peanut Butter

1 Cup Powder Sugar

1 Stick of Butter, 8 Tablespoons 

Equipment

Medium or Large Bowl

Hand or Stand Mixer

Spoon or Spatula

Chocolate Topping:

Ingredients

½ Cup Heavy Whipping Cream

1 Cup Chocolate Chips (They can be whatever flavor you want, I’m a huge dark chocolate lover so those are the chocolate chips I use)

2 Tablespoons of Peanut Butter

Equipment

1 Medium Bowl

Whisk, Spatula, Spoon, or Fork

1 Small Cooking Pot

Step Two: Buttery and Scrumptious Oreo Crust

1) Smash up your Oreos! Either place them in your food processor and let it go until the Oreos are a fine crumble. Or you can place them in your plastic bag and use your rolling pin to smash and roll your Oreos into a fine crumble.

2) Pour your crushed Oreos into your medium bowl. 

3) Place your stick of butter into the bowl and pop that into the microwave!

4) When your butter is completely melted mix it with your Oreo crumbs.

5) Dump half of your crumble into your pan and start your edges. Simply move the crumbs to a side and use your hand to press it into the size and to whatever height you want.

6) Cover up the bottom of your pan with your crumble and press it down.

7) Let is sit in the freezer for 10 minutes!

Step Three: The Peanut Butter Filling of Fluffiness

1) In a large, or medium, bowl place 1 stick of butter and place in the microwave to soften. Soften NOT melt!

2) Take out your jar of peanut butter and scoop it into your measuring cups. Then, once it’s measured, dump it into your bowl with your butter.

3) Now add in your powder sugar.

4) With your hand or stand mixer blend together your butter, peanut butter, and powder sugar until it’s smooth.

5) Now, if it’s been 10+ minutes take out your Oreo crust. You’re going to want to pour your peanut butter filing into your crust and then place it back into the freezer.

Step Four: Chocolate Topping of Delightfulness

1) In a medium bowl our in your 1 cup of chocolate chips.

2) Place your peanut butter on top of your chocolate chips.

3) In your small pot pour in your ½ cup of heavy whipping cream. Place this on your stove and turn the flame on to medium. You’ll want this to get hot enough to simmer but not boil.

4) When it start to simmer pour this into your bowl that holds your chocolate chips and peanut butter. 

5) Let it sit for 5 minutes and take out your Oreo crust and Peanut Butter filling pie out of the freezer.

6) When 5 minutes have passed stir it up with whatever utensil you decided to use. 

When it’s smooth pour the chocolate over the peanut butter pie.

7) If you can cover it with saran wrap or tin foil, that’s great! But if you cannot then it will be okay to leave it uncovered in the fridge.

Friends, family, and strangers, every dollar you give helps to keep me going. Top surgery itself runs anywhere from 5k to 12k. Beyond hospital bills, travel expenses, hotels, and time off work must also be taken into account. Not being anywhere close to affording surgery has been the toughest part about all of this.

Asking for money is never something I wanted to do. At the same time, it gets to a point where you cannot keep going anymore. I identify as genderqueer, or non-binary– something I came to terms with after years of struggling to describe how I felt. When gender is seen as either male or female, what happens to the rest of us? When trans is seen as existing within an MTF or FTM binary, what happens to the rest of us? Despite having a much more “progressive” health insurance than many others out there, my top surgery will not be covered. My insurance policy dictates requirements for coverage, including: documentation of “twelve consecutive months of cross-sex hormone therapy. While hormones are an important part of many people’s transition, it is not something I want. The idea that transness is a one-size-fits-all, harms everyone who does not adhere to the traditional trans narrative.

Emotionally and physically, I have reached a limit– the point where fighting the system has become a losing battle, taking everything out of me along the way. When I read this statistic, I realized just how many of us across the trans spectrum cannot get the care we need:

“19% of trans people have been refused healthcare because of their gender identity. 50% of trans people have had to teach their doctors about trans-related medical care. 28% of trans people have been harassed in medical settings.”

Finding doctors, therapists, and psychiatrists even somewhat educated of trans – let alone genderqueer–issues borders on impossible. They simply are not accessible. Going to appointments called by the wrong name and pronouns, never asked my name or pronouns, or having to teach my doctor which terms are offensive, has been my breaking point.

A month ago I injured my ribs from binding, and went to my general care doctor for help. She examined me and saw that my ribs had shifted, jutting sharply outward. I explained to her what a binder was. Then I asked her what I should do, and she couldn’t tell me. My best bet, was to go somewhere that specialized in trans needs, she confessed. Unfortunately those places are overbooked and hard to get into. I still haven’t had my ribs looked at.

I’m asking for a dollar, or whatever you can give. This will help me get closer to being in a body I’ll be comfortable in and more than that– to get back to doing what I love. My genetics have unfortunately given me a large chest, meaning that even on just the physical level, I am prevented from doing what I love. I used to run, cycle, hike, and swim. All of these activities, which used to help with depression and anxiety, are no longer helpful when you throw dysphoria into the mix.

[TRIGGER WARNING: child sexual abuse, incest]

Lena Dunham’s actual response and justification of her sexually abusing her younger sister. i want to start off by saying that the site that originally posted the accusations is a right wing site, and not very reliable. however, all evidence has come from lena’s own book that she wrote. no one has twisted her words.

Lena wrote that at age 7 she looked up her 1 year old sister’s vagina and found pebbles. for some reason news sites are only reporting on that event and not how lena described how she did “anything a sexual predator might do” to coerce her younger sister in to kissing her for prolonged periods of time and that she even masturbated in bed next to her. “This was within the spectrum of things I did” she wrote, ie she did other things to her sister. This happened over a period of years. For some reason news sites are hardly mentioning and some even leaving out that she tricked her sister in to kissing her and that she would masturbate in bed with her, among other things. they only reported the story from when she was 7. imo that’s twisting the story to portray lena as a curious, ignorant child. however, this wasn’t just one event, this lasted for years. Lena grew up. Lena did this as a preteen. she should’ve known better and shouldn’t be bragging about it now.

Children have innate curiosity about bodies and genitalia, showing privates to each other, touching your body, and kissing isnt abnormal, especially with kids their own age. what is abnormal is for a child, who was somewhere between 7-12* years old to coerce and trick a toddler in to sexual activities and to do so continuously. children can be sexual abusers to other children, and it happens more often than we like to think

that’s not being a weird child, that’s absolutely revolting and wrong. and for her to be proudly telling these stories 20 years later is horrific. to be an adult and proud of the sexual abuse you did to a child is boderline pedophilia imo.

lena has a history of racism, fetishization of lgbt people, and she even outed her sister to her parents, so this is just another thing to add to the list of how she’s a shitty person. now can everyone please stop calling lena dunham a feminist?

Grace has implied that this happened throughout her life (and we know that Lena was masturbating in bed with Grace for years, by her comment about ‘puberty’.) Grace has said in interviews and in her poetry that Lena has used her as her own personal journey, as her property- and now she’s essentially been outed (not only as a lesbian, which Lena outed her as to her parents without her permission as well!) but as an abuse survivor to her parents and the whole world. Without her consent.
