The drum fill that kicks off the first song on Darkness at the Edge of Town is everything.

This afternoon I watched LA LA LAND, in tears half the time, surrounded by people in my tribe. We collectively laughed and cried as two artists (a musician and an actress), struggled to break out in Hollywood without compromising their artistic dreams. Along the way they find love and that complicates their plans (also there's dance and music and elation). I saw myself reflected in both of the leads, and I was reminded why I moved here in the first place. It was beautiful. It was magical. It gave me tingles. See it in a cinema with your tribe, wherever that may be.

A Princely Sunset • I kind of took a summer vacation from posting regularly on Instagram by accident. The Orlando shooting (& the other shootings) really bummed me out for most of July, and then I had a client deadline in August with a lot of photos to edit. This month I starting writing a screenplay on spec that's been gestating since last November. Now that I've got a good daily rhythm writing that, I can get back to posting on here. I don't like the new algorithm on IG, but it's clearly not going anywhere. I like sharing my work and getting feedback, Likes, comments, and meeting new people. I'm planning a trip to Yosemite next month that I'm really excited about.
