The UK proposals could require YouTube to put some channels above others. This could severely limit a channel’s ability to grow. This seems to also censor what is being shown in a way since certain creators will be pushed back.
This is incredibly harmful! Imagine all of the content that will be censored or pushed back because of these proposals. (I can guarantee it will target marginalized groups! The government is just not telling you that!) This has to violate ATLEAST a few UK laws!

Call for action against a country and government that has restricted healthcare discriminatingly against trans folks forcing us to be on waitlists of up to 224 years.
a Government that has completely removed access to healthcare for trans children under 16 and is now considering increasing that to the age of 18.
A government that calls for doctors to not only refuse healthcare to children but also report their families to safeguarding if they support their kids, and suggest the removal of shared healthcare options for all Trans folks.
A government that is banning discussion and acknowledgement of us in schools², and encourages schools to segregate trans children³ in line with the segregation we will experience due to the EHRC guidance coming into force in 5 days (9th of July 2026)
This is all the last 2 years... a decades long meteoric rise of hate and vitriol spewed at trans folks culminating in 2 years of legislation and stripping of rights dragging us from one of the best places in the world to be trans right down to the bottom of the countries in Europe.
2 years of hate from funding by right wing billionaires to scapegoat trans folks and immigrants and placate the people, they are doing it because we are quiet, because we are accepting their lies, lies that we are powerless to stop them, lies that they need the money and labour that they suck from us like a scavenger sucking marrow from bones. This social media ban for under 16s and restriction for 16-17 year olds is absolutely dystopian by the way, and nobody asked for this. I'm all for reducing screentime and increasing safety but that is an individual responsibility and all this law is going to do is isolate teenagers, push them to less safe corners on the internet (e.g. unregulated forums,) and prevent them from accessing vital information on topics such as current events and mental health. Had a bad fright collecting my prescription today. The pharmacy told me my benefit - ESA income support - is no more and has been replaced by universal credit.
But I'm not entitled to universal credit, because I have more than £16,000 in savings. Which sounds like a lot of money, but my rent alone is £15,000 a year, and it looks like I'm not gonna be well enough to work for a really long time, if ever.
At the moment, I get about £12,000 a year from PIP and ESA. The ESA is roughly half that. If it goes away I start hemorrhaging money a LOT faster.
After I looked it up. The pharmacy is half right. ESA income support is a 'legacy' benefit. It is being replaced by UC. They will write to me at some point about migrating over, but because I am not eligible for UC I won't be.
I can apply for something called a 'transitional benefit', but I'm not clear that I'll get it.
As far as the pharmacy is concerned, my benefit has been transferred over. But the future...
I get that having savings at all makes me better off than most.
But I'm not going to be able to work when the money runs out. And there's no one else to support me and Garlic. I will have to move to somewhere smaller.
And I have lived in the smaller places you have to live in when you can't afford anything better. I don't know if I can do it again. Especially not sick.
When the government says they are doing this to 'help people back into work', know that that is a lie.
They are doing it to drain every last penny out of disabled people and then let us die.

its important to me that you guys know the EHRC DRAFT guidance isnt a law banning trans people from bathrooms. you know that right. not only is it a draft right now (meaning MPs have 40 days to raise issues -- write to your MP!!) but it is guidance. businesses do not have to ban trans people from their bathrooms. they also have to provide genuine justification for why a space needs to be single sex when new single sex spaces are created. transgender people are also still technically a 'protected group' under the EHRC code, as little as that might mean
the issue is of course that this makes spaces unsafe for trans people, as people are within their rights to claim that they are 'threatened' by transgender people in their spaces. it's still bad. but it is not a mandatory law and it is not illegal for transgender people to be in same sex spaces. telling people this is the case is frightening already vulnerable, mentally ill trans people, as well as emboldening transphobes to think they have the right to do a lot more than they do
hey. uk trans people and allies. in light of the new guidance you NEED to be writing to your mps. there’s a 40 day period before the guidance becomes statutory in which mps can raise objections. SO WRITE TO YOURS. a more detailed one is better but anything is better than nothing. they work for us. get your voice heard

Hi everyone, at time of writing (22/05/2026) the British government just received new government from the TERF-captured EHRC that will drastically restrict trans people's ability to exist in public life. Trans people have to organise agains this fascistically anti-trans politics and we need to focus firstly on saving as many trans lives as possible and secondly on building power towards trans liberation.
To achieve this I have laid out a strategy for organising around harm reduction structures and trans public assemblies. Please watch this video, share it, and take action on the suggestions in it as a matter of urgency. I know of three groups across two other countries besides the UK who have taken my suggestions seriously and started organising and I want to see more trans people do it, especially here.
I have also released a version of the same basic assembly organising writing on my substack for those who prefer reading to watching a video. I write there about ideas around organising quite a lot so there's more for the curious there.
Together we are strong. Together we can not only survive this but beat it. We just have to organise
