Free Kana iPhone Wallpaper
Something that helped me a TON with learning Kana was having my lock screen be a chart for either Hiragana or Katakana. Having the repetition of looking at the chart over and over will lock the information deeper into your consciousness. It’s a simple trick that gives you a little extra push to your existing routine.
I tried finding lock screen wallpapers for the kana charts online, but I didn’t find any that I liked that were clean, bold, or fit my lock screen well.
So I made my own!
I know it’s nothing special, but I figured I’d share incase anyone wants it.
If you want to use this yourself but want a different color, literally just send me an ask with the color code and i’ll make it for you!

The calm feeling of wandering through an old and empty bookshop ♡
a little reminder that pulling all-nighters and living solely on coffee and doing nothing but studying all day is not aesthetic or productive or good for you. take a break. eat a meal. go to bed early tonight. fuck your grade. your health and sanity is way more important.
Language learning apps
While I’ve always been more of a textbook kinda girl myself, I do have a folder on my phone of language learning apps, so I thought I’d share some of my favourites with you all! These are mainly with Japanese or Korean in mind since that’s what I’m learning, but some of them are available for other languages too! I’m thinking of doing a more in depth video review of some of these apps, so if that’s something you’d be interested in let me know! Links included, faves are in bold.
Mondly
Set up kinda like Duolingo with the different topics and lessons, it has over 30 languages available. It also has a desktop version. There’s a wide range of topics covered and every day there is a new daily lesson with weekly and monthly tests, and you can add friends to ‘compete’ against in the leaderboard, lots of competitive fun if you ask me
Memrise
I’m pretty sure you all know this one. It’s like virtual flashcards, and there are sooooo many courses to choose from, not just languages. Personally I use this for vocab a lot, again you can add friends to make learning a little less lonely
HelloTalk
Super easy way to meet native speakers. You can chat to people directly or make ‘moments’ for people to correct and respond to. There are some great built in features too like a dictionary, text to audio and audio to text converters.
LingoDeer
A good app if you’re learning Japanese, Chinese or Korean, or all three. Easy to follow along with and has quite a lot of content to cover. It starts with kana/hangul so is great for complete beginners. Grammar explanations are good for each lesson. There’s also a kind of revision test feature which is ok but not my favourite personally
ChineseSkill
This is only for Chinese but it’s a great little app imo. It’s basically the same as Lingodeer in terms of content and layout but it’s more colourful and I prefer the revision games in this app. If you’re looking for an app just for Chinese I’d recommend this one over LingoDeer tbh
Jsho
The same thing as Jisho.org but as an app (idk if it’s “official” tho) Really useful if you just wanna look up a word or kanji, I use this app pretty much everyday
Beelinguapp
I’ve just started using this app recently but I really like it! It has different audio books in different languages. You can read and listen to all the stories. The only problem is that there’s no in app dictionary feature so if you don’t know a word you have to look up yourself, which may be good or bad depending on how you look at it (bad if you’re lazy like me lol)
It's time to kill the idea that we can only grow and heal when we're uncomfortable. You heal every time you have a good conversation with someone. You heal every time you laugh. You heal every time something makes you smile genuinely. You heal every time you have fun creating something - anything. You heal every time you get so absorbed in something fun that you forget your struggles for a while. There is, in fact, lots of healing and growth to be found INSIDE your comfort zone.

There'll be a moment when you realise you're 27 when yesterday you were just 17; and you wouldn't be able to tell how a decade passed away and your life got divided into before and afters. The fury of youth will subdue and nothing will really change but everything will feel different when you look at old photographs and blurry videos taken on cheap mobile phones. Scents will remind you of childhood and certain friends you don't talk to anymore, hangouts will become reunions and mom's burnt pie will become the best food you ever had. And I know on some days you won't be able to show anything of those 10 years but I hope you remember to breathe, and let go of the knot in your chest. I hope you go out in the sun and live a little, because tomorrow is 37.
Edit- I added the visualizer for this piece on my YT, check it out here
-Ritika Jyala, excerpt from The Flesh I Burned
i think not a single word you write is ever wasted. i think your unfinished stories taught you more than you know, i think your notebook margins are full of doodles and every one of them has meaning, every scrap and perpetual work in progress lives inside your heart. art is not ever “wasted” just because you put effort into something that’s not suitable for mass consumption. there is value inherent in the act of creation!
