My Babysitter's A Vigilante
dumb name, i kno, my bad (เนแดฅเนฯ
)
who wants to see me take another one of my fav childhood shows and present them to the batfamily like some sacrificial offering. doesnt matter what u jus said cuz ima do it anyways :)
Okay so I'm thinking that Constantine and Benny's grandma are like old acquaintance, like maybe he picked up a few things from her. Or maybe he got himself stuck in the past and that is where he met a young Evelyn Weir and they really hit it off (romantically or platonically, whatever u want i dont really care, jus kno they got along). Until Constantine was forced to go back to his original time, but she still found a way to contact the man, though she's never used it. She had already moved on with her life so she decided it would be best if they went their separate ways. She'd hear tales and rumor about him here and there, stories that made her chuckle and reminded her of old times, but at the end of the day it was all still in the past.
Now why is this important. Well because the show ended on such a weird cliffhanger, I take that as permission to do whatever the fuck I want with it. So I'm changing the ending. The part where Ethan is in Vice Principal Stern's mind, I see it as Ethan pushing Stern to abuse the Lucifractor in a way that backfires on Stern. Not sure how exactly though cause the show never explained it, that magic nuke that they were all so afraid of went off and we have no idea what its effects are.
Like we know it like drains dark energy from vampires to a point where it can kill them, and that dark energy can be directed onto others. So I'm gonna say when Stern uses the Lucifractor it quite literally nukes Whitechapel.
Erica and Rory were able to make it out with Anastasia and the rest of the Vampire Council, of course cause we see that at the end of the last episode. But they never indicate anything for Ethan, Benny, Sarah, and Jesse. So in my head Evelyn gave Benny some sort of sigil for teleportation that leads to, you guessed it, Constantine or maybe the House of Mystery. Evelyn had kept it as like a failsafe, a way to contact Constantine only for emergencies. She decided to give it to Benny, telling him to use it if they need to get out quickly, that it will take them to a an old friend of hers.
So Benny activates the sigil and teleports into the House of Mystery where Constantine is in the process of getting drunk.
Constantine: *slowly looks up from his drink, taking in the disheveled kids (+ Jesse)* The fuck are you lil' shits doing here? Actually, how'd you even get 'ere?
At this point, none of them know where they are or the fact that Whitechapel has been nuked (and everyone the know is dead สโฟส). All they know (or well really just Benny) is that Evelyn trusts this man and that he could help them.
Benny: I -uh. Hi . . . um- I'm Benny and uh these are my friends โexcept that one *points an accusing finger at Jesse, who just mockingly pouts with his hands over his heart* โ and um my grandma sent me here. She said u could help. Uh Evelyn?
Constantine: *head snaps up, eyes are wide, and the grip on his glass tightens* Evelyn?! Evelyn Weir?! Where is she? *stands up suddenly and unsteadily, swaying slightly* You're her grandson? *eyes bulging out of his head* She had kids!
Benny: *side-eyeing Ethan, wondering if this is really the person his grandma was referring to when she mentioned capable sorcerer* Uh- yeah buddy, she had kids. And she's in Whitechapel currently in some sort of comatose/catatonic state because of some evil wizard dude who has the Lucifractor, and has just set off some magic bomb. So if you could help us out, like my grandma said you would, then that's be sick.
Constantine: THE LUCIFRACTOR!
Benny: Yeah, pal. Please try an keep up, we're kinda on a time crunch.
Constantine doesn't even bother to let Benny finish before he's already scrambling away from the couch towards the fire place. He recites some words in Latin while flicking some powder into the fire place. All of a sudden the fire roars, bursting out and showing off an image. It shows a town on fire, there is a crater at the center with the surrounding areas being littered with the ruins of buildings. Not even the outer edges of this town were left standing.
It takes a while before the group realizes they are looking at Whitechapel. It's unrecognizable, there is nothing but ash left.
Ethan, Benny, and Sarah are taking a moment to come to terms with the fact everyone they know and love is dead (they don't know Erica and Rory made it out) and their home in general is now a wasteland. Constantine is lowkey mourning Evelyn (again). Jesse, honestly, doesn't really care, but he's got nothing better to do so he decides to stick around.
I dunno how long it takes, but eventually Sarah is the one to point out that they should probably find the Vampire Council. The Vampire Council had moved to one of their other locations, Gotham. Things had mostly been kept on the down low, because everything was being handled mostly in Whitechapel, so no one was aware of the Gotham branch of the Vampire Council. Except for a few magic users, like Constantine.
I dunno what kind of conflict I want. It could be like a vampire civil war now that Anastasia has decided to establish herself in Gotham, conflicting with whoever was previously in control while she was in Whitechapel. The bats would get involved and work with Sarah, Ethan, Benny, Jesse, and Constantine. There would be a moment where they could find out that Erica and Rory are still alive, feel some relief and joy, only to learn that the two are being mind controlled by Anastasia and being forced to be her soldiers.
I also had this idea where it could be a war between the Court of Owls and the Vampire Council. . .
Ethan and Benny are the perfect adoption bait for Bruce. Though I imagine that Benny would fall under Constantine's care more. Mainly because Benny quickly realizes how strong of a warlock Constantine is and wants to learn from (also clearly this person was important to his grandma, and he might be forming an attachment with the guy now that she's gone). I also believe that Constantine would find himself growing fond of the kid as well, and may even be in awe at the amount of power Benny holds (clearly seeing pieces of Evelyn in him).
The rest of the batfamily is quickly growing attached to Ethan, I mean cmon, who wouldn't. He such a cute lil' nerdy guy. And Bruce can grumble all he likes about magic and whatever, but he also can't deny he's growing fond of the kid. Ethan is trying to suppress the grief of losing his family, instead choosing to put everything into whatever is going on with the Vampire Council. He also may be wary at growing attached to more people, or even the idea of becoming part of a new family so soon after he lost his own (also wanna take this moment to establish Ethan, Benny, and Sarah are traumatized and fiercely protective of one another, completely unwilling to see the each other hurt or in danger). The batfam notices this, I like thing Cass is the first one to bring it up with Ethan who just brushes it off.
I like to imagine him and Duke hitting it off because its clear, while the rest of the batfam is chill with them, they still dont get what its like to be a meta or have magic in Gotham/under Batman's scrutiny. It leads to them being way more confident to just fuck around with their abilities with one another. I'd also find it funny if the bats get used to just handing Ethan shit and waiting for him to tell them whats up with it, except for Bruce who still doesn't like magic and grumbles about contaminating evidence (which is lowkey fair). Like Tim comes up to him with a knife, cause he can't be bothered to deal with this kinda shit (he's got 10 other cases on his desk and a company to run) and he's complaining about how there's no finger prints on it, and Ethan just touches it and is like "yeah, the butler did it."
I think it's be cool to play around with the fact Stern had cursed Ethan to use his fear against him, which was seeing all the people he cared about dead (which is like almost true now). Like Ethan gets hit with fear gas but he doesn't react much to it because he's already been through this. The rest of the batfam are wondering if it doesn't affect him because of his magic and Ethan's just like "Oh no, it is. Just I've kinda already done this whole fear conquering thing before so. . ."
Sarah on the other hand, the moment she finds out Erica is alive and under Anastasia's control is doing everything in her power to get Erica (and Rory) back. SUE ME I THINK THAT ERICA AND SARAH ARE CUTE TOGETHER AND THEY'D BE A WAY BETTER COUPLE THAN SARAH AND ETHAN! I MEAN COME ON BADASS LESBIAN VAMPIRE COUPLE! I wanna see them hold hands and be soft with each other, while simultaneously being completely ready to pulverize anyone who even dares to look at the other wrong!
I also believe that Stephanie and Rory are basically twins separated at birth. Like they meet and everyone is like "Oh god. There's two of them now."
Omg I also just imagine like Ethan bumps into Jason and like gets like hit with a vision of Jason dying, coming back to life, then getting dunked in the pit. Maybe he even accidentally jumps into Jason's mind because the vision surprised so much and he just feels awful, like both anxious and angry. He comes out with a killer migraine and tells Benny about it, it's not like it's their first time dealing with the undead. They've brought things back from the dead themselves, even if it was just animals. Hell Benny brought a doll to life. And I think it'd be fun if Benny just starts looking through his spell book, seeing if there is anything on what Ethan saw. Maybe there is a section on the Lazarus Pit, maybe their is even a little portion a pit madness and how to quell it. I dunno, it's just an idea . . . a MBAV x BF IDEA! thanks for reading :)
