How I picture Juno and Nureyev.

Juno: I know a lot of people see Juno as Black or trans. I am not immune to male/white default. Plus I really like the idea of this bland, masc-presenting person going as Lady/wife in a big gold gown.

Nureyev: No notes. Perfect.

Like, in the Keanu Reeves movie he's very proud about coming up with a slur for half-angel, half-human or half-demon, half-demon people (a slur that in real life is used by actual racists for mixed race folk, making his use of it not even "clever") and repeatedly refers to the process of exorcising or killing half-demon people as "deporting" them back to Hell. Even though, logically, as the half-demon people were born on Earth (full demons or angels are apparently able to manifest on Earth, making their appearance in the movie a big plot point) he's "deporting" them to a place they're not even from originally?

While in the Matt Ryan tv show, the second episode has him talking to a Romany woman about how her culture's version of magic is particularly evil, with him even using the g-word slur, even though within the context of the episode she had used ghosts to kill her abusive non-Romany husband....

He then repeatedly talk about how evil Voodoo was whenever he came into contact with Papa Midnite, until later in the season they ended up having to take John aside to bluntly tell him that Voodoo is an actual real world religion that a lot of people both practice and find fulfilment in, and that he's being a massive asshole. Midnite also points out that John's approach to magic by just taking random bits and pieces from various practices he finds work is also incredibly disrespectful, considering this basically amounts to him lifting other culture's ceremonial practices and artefacts while discarding the context why said cultures used them in the first place.

I mean, I guess props to the show later on having enough self-awareness to address and try and amend that issue with John... an issue they themselves introduced to the character in the first place?
