People ask me why do you post so many selfies on your Instagram ? Deep down I think to myself " for 20 years I hated what I saw in the mirror . I couldn't stand myself or any aspect of myself . So I covered all of it up with dark make up , baggy clothes ,food , anti depressants , anti anxiety pills , pain pills , drugs , more food , alcohol , and isolation. There is only so long you can keep putting these layers on until they become too heavy for you to carry . Well I carried them for so long they crushed me. So I decided one day to peel each off like an onion. So one at a time I replaced one layer of mask with an ounce of patience and gratitude . Everyday I tried to make it one more day recognizing these layers for what they were and putting them aside only to replace them with a new positive outlook and spirituality reassuring me that I could do anything with a power greater than myself next to me. As I found more inner strength I began to use that on my physical well being and started seeing remarkable changes. At first I truly hated what I saw in the mirror and despised every mirror I came across. But nowadays when people laugh at the amount of selfies or pictures I take of myself and post I honestly just smile deep down inside knowing hey I'm just so so so sos so incredibly proud of myself and how far I've come to be in front of this mirror and actually liking it enough to share with someone else. For those of you who know what I'm talking about the moment you feel proud for yourself is quite the moment to capture on film. Hahahahaha. So a Saturday bathroom selfie is called for from my beautiful mother in laws birthday at Gus's Fried Chicken in Austin Texas . By the way .............. I just peed. @blueoctoberband here's to knowing what you are worth and grabbing it by the balls. Remember folks you are powerless over what anyone thinks of you so get out there and live right.
