LORD HOPPINGTON!

Athena screams internally. It’s not a bad scream, like when she was arrested, or when she saw the doubt on Apollo’s face, but it is still an internal shriek. Why are there so many pretty girls here? Had she just not noticed them back home? Was she too busy with her law degree?

Either way. The girl’s hair is so beautiful and Athena can’t help herself.

“Hi - ummm, I’m sorry if this is weird, but your hair is so pretty?” Her face is bright, excited, and Widget couldn’t possibly glow any greener. “Is it naturally that colour? I mean - it’s beautiful either way! And your clothes are so nice!”

And thankfully it wasn’t another talking skeleton.

Looking up at the girl, she smiled, twirling some of the hair around her fingers. What a nice compliment honestly! And from someone so...bright? Wow that was a bright outfit. Not that she could complain it was actually a really nice outfit too. She was totally staring too long without responding wasn’t she.

“Hehehe, thank you!”

“WHAT DO YOU MEAN ‘WHY ARE YOU SCREAMING’?!” He barked back, still extremely rattled at what had just happened. “ALL I WANTED TO DO WAS TELL A HUMAN WITH COOL HAIR THAT SHE HAS COOL HAIR BUT THEN SHE TURNED AROUND AND SUDDENLY STARTED SHOUTING REALLY, REALLY LOUD!! I COULD BE HALFWAY DEAD RIGHT NOW FROM SHOCK!!!”

What? A mask? Oh. Another- His good eye narrowed, staring at the young lady before him. She clearly seemed utterly terrified of his appearance, stammers clear in her voice. A snapping would feel good, and Gaster near opened his mouth to grant her one, but it’s locked shut with a clatter of teeth, as a wry smile grew in its place.

He placed his hands to the sides of his head.

“A mask? Don’t be silly”

POP!

Sure, she’d been put through some legitimately terrifying situations, and sure, she had stared death in the face... multiples of times, but this was something entirely different. An irrational fear maybe, but plenty of people were scared of ghosts and monsters weren’t they? She was just the same. Positively terrified of that junk.

So when the other popped his head clean off she quite nearly let out a shriek.

Instead, she stood there, eyes wide, and too terrified to move. Forcing a shaky smile after a moment, she brought up a shaking hand, doing her best to keep eye contact with the other’s head...which was now in his hands.

“H...haha...h-hah... T-that’s...”

Whatever, it wasn’t like this particular outcome was something he hadn’t been able to predict to some extend. Ever since he had mentioned their sibling to them, all other topics - and in this case people - had become about as relevant as void. A soundless sigh pressed through his lips before he took another sip from his coffee, watching the heartwarming reunion unfold in front of him. Not that he couldn’t sympathize with missing your siblings.  And if they didn’t thank him suitably, there was always blackmail.

“It’s nice to see you both so happy”, he snickered, shaking off his salt and bitterness as much as possible. His chance would come another day, for sure. “I’m glad I could assist with your reunion. Surely, it would have taken much longer without me.”

Looking back over at him, she blinked for a moment, as if trying to figure out just who he was again.

“Oh right yeah! Thank you a toooooon Todo...something. Matsuri? Todomatsuri.”

“It probably would have! Like, I can barely use the fields here, it would take foreveeeerrr once they maxed out and junk since I left my phone back at the apartment! Ohhhh Light, Light! Do you think we can live in that house again? It was soooo nice and big and I know Cupcake liked it a whoooole lot better than this apartment. Is like, anyone even still here that lived there? Like Sigma and his boyfriend or whatever? It feels  like aaaaages since I was here!”

“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA??”

Well her question was legitimate. There was literally no reason for the other to start screaming as well. He was the one that was absolutely, positively terrifying. Like, imagine if a walking talking skeleton walked up to you. Or well. Like. If he wasn’t one himself.

She thinks she remembers the other talking about siblings, but it never occurred to her one was an identical twin. He probably didn’t mention it to try and slip her up later---how rude! Or it could be as the other said, but like, that didn’t change that he was rude.

“So you’re like identical twins or something? And I don’t get it---why would he be embarrassed by your existence. Like, my brother is the toooootal opposite I wouldn’t be able to stand that honestly. Doesn’t it upset you or anything?
