i think the fandom collectively tends to forget how much kaz actually smiles in canon. like he’s not some stone-faced immovable shadow who wouldn’t know humor if it shanked him in the ass, he’s a bratty 17 year old who constantly makes jokes and snide comments at people. he has, at least once, been described as “grinning like a fool”. his lips quirk and he smiles and smirks and sometimes even grins like any other edgelord high schooler would

i will never be over the fact that, for the whole of the ice court heist, wylan just sat and listened to the other crows bullying him about his upbringing, and not once did he correct them. not once did he tell them that his father tried to kill him, would beat him, force tonics and hypnosis on him. not once did he even try and defend himself. he just took it, even though he knew he could probably make them stop of he told them the truth. but he didn't

Something I appreciate is that Inej being a sexual assault and abuse survivor is not used to make her Kaz’s damsel in distress. Too often, in stories that feature women who are survivors of such crimes, their pain and trauma is just used to make their male love interest protective and macho over them. That’s not the case in six of crows. Ofc Kaz hates that that happened to her and feels angry, but he doesn’t see her as a helpless, delicate flower he needs to shield at all times. He has respect for her and her strength, her grit. Inej’s backstory is used to develop her character arc and development, and to show what too many people, especially women who are part of racial and ethnic minorities, have had to endure. It’s not used to make Kaz a possessive alpha male.

I feel like we as a fandom don’t acknowledge that Kaz is literally a genius. Like yes, the plans and scheming are awesome but he is also canonically INSANELY good at maths. To the point that he was doing the Crow Club’s accounting completely in his head and only wrote it down for Per Haskell’s benefit.

sorry but someone assuming you have "left a fandom" when you don't post about it a lot anymore feels like bilbo coming home to the sackville bagginses having him presumed dead and selling all his stuff. girl i was just on a little quest????
