Stark and Grace go public or get leaked? With Tony being celeb status, people go digging for info about his new man? The photos of them at their conference get leaked…. but also……… old college frat party photos of Grace circa Cali in the 90s get leaked in the tabloids………..?

I really really just love the idea of people seeing this slightly ruffled scientist and going “yeah ok he’s cute but how the fuck did Grace lock down Tony mf Stark,” followed by people seeing what they looked like when they met, spurring “yeah ok he’s cute but how the fuck did Tony Stark lock down Ryland mf Grace.”

People don’t appreciate that Grace was objectively insane b.t.e (before teacher era), nor do they appreciate that in contrast, Tony was not nearly as insane!! I think it’d be kind of charming if, when they were younger, Grace was a bit more of the hotheaded crazy scientist spitfire while Stark was more clean cut and quieter about his general insanity. Dr Captain Ryland “it’s been a long time since I’ve taken a random pill from a stranger” Grace you’ll always be so special to me

oh the idea of them getting thrown in the tabloid ringer ... tmz and the daily mail are on their ass FAST. they're like 'how did this middle school teacher end up with savior of the world iron man'??? which quickly becomes 'how did the savior of the world iron man end up with the cutest middle school teacher'

i absolutely love grace's BTE (hilarious acronym btw). i think it's so much fun to have him be a party animal, a bit insane, and very egotistical before all three of those things got sucked out of him in his later 20s and early 30s. i DO think grace was more of the crazy scientist compared to tony, who had a lot to live up to in terms of his family name! i think it's a generally agreed upon thing (at least to me) that tony's playboy reputation was earned but really only in his early 20s. (you can see that one deleted scene from im1 that shows him being uncomfortable with the whole playboy image and he just props it up because he feels like he has to) meanwhile grace is poppin pills and doing body shots. but ofc, tony was insane in his own way- creating JARVIS and DUM-E before he was even old enough to vote and becoming the ceo of a company at the age of 21 like the poor guy just had to hide it a bit better.

i'm rambling a bit now but i think that contrast between them and also how they both mellowed out in their own ways (middle school teacher vs superhero, lol) in the years since that makes the dynamic so interesting to explore. they both changed SO MUCH but also in similar ways. they both are/will be great dads.
