my stupid baby darling sweetie pie
Ive been reading Green Lanterns
Headcanon that after this particular adventure, Simon and Jessica began saying "screw you, Batman!" as a running joke every time they're minorly inconvenienced
Naturally, the other Green Lanterns of Earth start doing it too and it becomes a habit to blame Batman for every problem they encounter, regardless of whether it's actually his fault or not. It's basically their "thanks Obama"
Eventually, this spreads to the rest of the Corps. Only a small handful of them have actually met Batman, but most of them have heard Hal or Guy complaining about him at some point or another. Somehow they learn that Batman had a Yellow Lantern ring for a while, which leads to the rumor that he must've been an especially vexing member of the Sinestro Corps if veteran GLs are still pissed at him
What started as a running joke eventually becomes a genuine tradition of the Corps, and a thousand years later, a future member of the GLC teams up with the Legion of Super-Heroes and confuses the hell out of the Legionnaires when their power ring runs out of battery and they spit Batman's name like it's a curse

been thinking about how all the human lanterns have willpower that's flavored slightly different from each other:
hal: willpower as daring (he's always doing the bold thing, even if it ends up being a mistake, like parallax or scapegoating himself, but a lot of the time, bold is what they need)
guy: willpower as grit (he's rough and tumble, always getting knocked down but also always, always gets back up)
john: willpower as integrity (he tries so, so hard to do the right thing every time, and sometimes this results in hard decisions, but he at least tries to do what's right)
kyle: willpower as creativity (he's an artist, obviously, but beyond that, he also had to answer "what does it mean to be a Green Lantern?" without the help of a corps around him)
simon: willpower as faith (exclusive to him as a GL are healing and future vision, which i think are a nod to the miracles of Islamic prophets, and even in the text himself, he is able to do these things because he chooses not to believe in the limitations he is told, and rather to believe in himself; he also at first struggles to trust in his ring, as communicated through his carrying of a gun on his person, but he later overcomes this)
jessica: willpower as growth (i think it's fair to say that jessica, more than most GLs, has to overcome fear more than most, but i think it's also a really important part of her character that anxiety will always be with her and that her journey with mental health doesn't have to be linear to be significant)
jo: willpower as perseverance (she's incredibly driven, but she was also directionless, which is why she kept failing to find the right "system" through which to better the world--until she became a GL)
keli: willpower as survival (her backstory is all about how she had some very hard circumstances and had to work to survive, and as the youngest GL in mainline comics, she's also gone through it, but she always makes it out okay)
kim: willpower as resourcefulness (tai at first dismisses that his grandma could be "creative" as a GL because she didn't seem the type, but it's pointed out to him that it must take a lot of creativity to start over in a new country; i think it's fair to say that this creativity can be flavored as resourcefulness, especially since kim is shown to have been a leader in her community even after coming to the U.S. as an immigrant with nothing)
tai: willpower as harmony (i mean "harmony" in two ways: first that teamwork and cohesion is a big motif in tai's books, and second that tai has to accept his new "heritage" of his grandma's legacy as a GL into his identity)
Cormorant fishing in Yangshuo near Guilin, Guangxi, China. Christian Vaisse
Cormorant fishing is an old tradition in which fishermen use trained cormorants to catch fish.

Matt Murdock by Alex Maleev
This Dan Piraro comic always makes me cry.
Teratophiliacs were once a niche group that bonded over their sexual attraction to monsters in obscure forums. Now—as online communities pro
Okay guys, we’ve got to wrap it up now with the monsterfucking and find something new to do. It’s getting write-ups in GQ, it’s so over.
Sometimes, in their obsession with monsters, humans end up finding other humans. In 2019, Cachét developed a crush on Salad Fingers, the main character in a British cult web cartoon. She drew porn of Salad Fingers and sent it to David Firth, the show’s creator. Firth loved it and followed her back. “He thought I was a guy because no girl would draw porn of Salad Fingers,” Cachét says.
They started messaging. Cachét complimented his drawing of a human-bug threesome and asked for a print. Three years later, Cachét and David got married. The human-bug threesome drawing hangs on the wall of their home.
Okay this does kind of rule though.
